There are a tons of games with challenges, hardcore, dangerous and oneshot enemies. Leave some games to us, who just love to play for the story and beautiful art, not for being angry and frustrated.

Yes, please. Every gamer isn't a masochist who needs the simulation of "pain & suffering" just to enjoy themselves.

Inside or Little Nightmares aren't challlenging games, but they are "games", you know, you do things with your fingers, like solving puzzles or platforming through well designed sections. For what i see, this is just a 2D walking simulator, which i hope is not, because the art looks amazing. The thing is that this game is probably going to be in the main page of Steam, just because the graphics, and is going to sell better than some other games way better than this one, and they didn't even get the chance. Rifter, Swordbounce, Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass are some good examples. I dont want a crazy challenge, but i also dont want to let the right key pressed while i watch the tv.

Andrew is probably surprised because Devolver Digital has a long history of publishing challenging games.
I am pretty sure Andrew is asking if the game is casual (he plays a lot of casual games)

It's a very easy game Andrew, more of a cartoon with some basic platforming

yeah i'm in the same boat, i'm intrigued by the visuals but i want to know if it make you think just a little to progress or if this is kindergarden puzzle territory.
In short is it a game or a walking simulator?
Doesn't care about hardcore/casual debate, thanks.

Well, it has some platforming and puzzles that require use of abilities. Aesthetic experience with some casual gameplay.

"kindergarden puzzle territory" - I guess you could say that.

Well there are puzzles, you don't have to only go right and jump, but most of them are kinda easy, but it's kinda challenging to find all the secrets, so it's more a game to enjoy than to challenge, but it's not that easy

You could just say "no" you know that right?

Uh...you CAN have a game that is fun / challenging but doesn't leave you angry and frustrated.

(I love Nekopara too! Also, Chocola is great, no hating here, but Vanilla is best girl!)

I think it would be good to assume the best from people and let them prove themselves either way (bad, or good). No need to get upset before confirming the full meaning of the comment, especially when all you have to do is ask if you're perception of the meaning is accurate. I am sometimes misunderstood when I leave comments and it really sucks when you get painted as a nasty person because people want to interpret you in the worst light.

That being said, if there are people who want a game free of things that frustrate them, they should have as many as developers can justify making. I may greatly dislike most "walking simulators" as it were, but it doesn't hurt anyone if entertainment they don't like exists.

EDIT: This game looks awesome. Just watched the videos and hearing the music made me immediately want to buy the soundtrack. That music is high art as far as I'm concerned. I'm going to wait and see if I get the game in my humble bundle this month and if not, then I'll buy it. (that has happened to me XD)

It's ok to say "this game was not for me" and move on without dissing it.

This game has some platforming and some puzzles that require some skill. They're not hard, chances are you won't ever get stuck, but IMO they're satisfying. Obviously the game's main selling point is its visuals and music, but I liked the gameplay too.

I just saw this thread and bought it because it was on the front page of Steam and thought it looked pretty, then it sat on my account for a few months, today I played it and loved it. No shooting, at first you can walk and jump, but by the end you can fly, swim, move between dimensions and oddly enough, sing. You can then take these abilities back to previous areas an unlock a bit more. Inside and Little Nightmares were both excellent, but Gris is excellent without being a horror based. The puzzles are subtle, but I still got 6 solid hours of it and am not bothering to go through the discussion boards. I was put off by the cute screenshots and anime tribute art, but I took a lot and might take up anime art just so I can pay tribute. Beautiful game.
