Can't jump high enough
After the game offers you the skill to jump highly, on the PC Game you can read "hold space", but my caracter doesn't jump much higher than before. I can't reach the first switching tree. Does anyone else have the same problem? Can anyone give tips?

Look for flying red things. Jump, Double Jump, then Hold for a super boost. It takes some practice but you'll get it.

Holding the jump button after the second jump makes you float, if you can't find red paper birds, try finding some higher ledge and try to float over.

I have the same problem with high jump / flying; it's really frustrating... haven't played since Christmas... would like to try jumping / flying again, maybe at the weekend

I have the same trouble. I'm in the circular thing with the big square in the middle. The red things are floating around it, but I can never double-jump high enough to catch them. I've watched multiple walkthrough and people seem to be doing just what I am, but the red things never make me go higher. I tried for an hour and gave up. There are so many frustrating things in this game. I don't know how people can call it serene. I've never wanted to throw the controller so much playing a game before.

@Thanatopsis: You have to stand on the left side only a bit below the entrance and jump at the right moment to fly

No, I get it now. I hooked up a controller with vibration which gave me a clue. Every other place there are the red things you jump, jump and hold. But in the circular area you jump, jump and hold, let go, and jump again. Compeltely ridiculous how many arbitrary dumb things there are like that. Like how usually you can't walk on dark pipes, but every once in a while you can, or you can't jump onto something that is at a certain angle but other times something with even more of an angle you can jump on. Beautiful game but terribly designed. I guess if everything wasn't trial and error it wouldn't be long enough.

@Thanatopsis I had the exact same issue at that point. It's not at all intuitive that you have to jump, jump again, then hit the button a third time to fly with the butterflies (there's no indication that hitting the jump button a third time in the air will do anything). It's especially tough since they're so high up that it's unforgiving even if you do realize you heed to hit it a third time. I probably made thirty attempts before I quit the game, watched a lets play, then realized what I was expected to do.

Beautiful game though.

Overall it is a great game, and I've certainly played indie games with far wonkier controls. I've just read so much from reviewers and the developers saying how it is serene, relaxing, peacful, and like Journey. The devs say they wanted it to be easy and accessible to anybody, even people who don't play games. But there is no way any of my friends who don't play games could play this. But then the devs said it was also like Ori, and I found that too tediouis to finish.
