I'm fairly picky when it comes to male characters in these sorts of games myself, and Takt actually amused me a bit. Just keep in mind that the game is a satirical comedy, in a similar vein as the Neptunia games.
Takt (or Takuto in Japan ver. I prefer Takuto to my thoughts and originality) has a unique attitude and sometimes hilarious thinking when it comes to others (not so used to girls, and the distance due to the trauma in the past, see the storyline) but when the situation is critical, he does the job right and properly to protect others (sometimes he can get serious when it comes to have fun via force on others), for his pursuit attack, it can also be an advantage for dealing the final blow if the enemy/boss has less than 1-2% HP, do the overkill (if you're lucky when one of your party members does not manage to deal full damage), and of course do a field break finish (in case they don't manage to deal the attack damage). And of course the turnback feature there. So the pursuit goes, Strike is 1 hit, thrust is 1 hit and finisher is 2 hits. Then repeats as long as you have the action count is more than 1. For defence, he will protect one or many (depending on the enemy's AOE attack), maidens, with a paired/group defence (Pay attention to the screen as it is very easy to miss with a blink of an eye!)
My recommendation is to increase the action count as high as you can go, (as well as some buffs, the EP and EXP buff support is the best), and it can make levelling up a cakewalk (as long as you equip the maidens with EXP bonus Amps.
Its a comparison of his persona, and of course, Takuto's just a boy (using his JP name than the English release) and of course he does want to avoid these situations lol. However, its still my favourite Compile Heart game to play no matter what, and the theme of it. From my own view.
The gameplay is fine except the tuning with the order break feature in it. The feature is fine for a challenge (even though I avoid it with 1 turn harmonic chain destructions, sometimes) but can be a pain when it comes to the RNG. Making them do a surprise attack even though the player has managed to do the surprise attack in the first place.
E.g.
Made a pre emptive strike > Order Break occurs > MAD/BEEP uses their desperation move or devastating skills, places party in a near critical situation. (low HP with debuffs or worse, KO'd)
Its an interesting feature but the execution of it is poor due to the AI. And the randomness unknown (I think)
1. Uses your voltage gauge where it is crucial for the other maiden's attacks or their special attacks/harmonic skills. Some harmonic chain skills not only use SP but they use the voltage gauge.
2. If the outfit breaks, bye bye live concert mode. Or worse, KO'd...
3. Debuff with Panic, paralysis or sleep, live concert mode and your character not in the harmonics.
Best method when it comes to harmonics skills from my view,
-Break the field of the enemy so you can use pursuit attacks (other finishers)
-Use Cosmic fan for the follow up damage plus pursuit attacks that finishes with debuffs.
-Experiment with the different harmonic skills and choose one that can turn the tide in any battle.
-Refresh the deck before entering a boss battle and of course, make sure you have full SP before the start of battle.
Finally, for grinding for Otoha and Aria's affection to maximum (including the others) for the achievement, prepare to do a lot of paired and/or group defences for a long time... (which I'm currently doing now in getting the true ending.)
Also.... yup.... Concert mode is cool and all, but I would rather save all those voltage for epic harmonic finisher.
After research, when the amount of damage is in the red, its a critical, gray coloured is normal basic damage, and the pink is either HP or SP damage, blue (for enemies only) represent the field guard.
Normally, if you use a harmonic skill when the enemy's field is not broken, it will do the basic damage and hits. However, if the field is broken, the pursuit damage can be activated and extra damage can be dealt. Just watch the SP used and the voltage gauge, it uses a lot!
My rule of thumb: Use Angelic Sword harmonic skill (once or twice) to field break the enemies (easy break), then pursuit with any harmonic skill as you wish. For now, keep experimenting and having our thoughts.
Just don't know the final Harmonic skill... I got 99% of all of it and just missing only one!
