How the hell do i drag a body.

Left shift and clicking the guy doesn't do ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, i knocked out the smoking guy at the first mission but i can't do ANYTHING but take his cigarettes. How the ♥♥♥♥ does this work?

Thanks but i had already found it out; i wasn't able to tie him up (hence me saying shift plus click doesn't do anything).
The thief can't tie folks up, that was the problem. I was only using the thief.
