Commandos 2: Men of Courage

Commandos 2: Men of Courage

Game crashes right after starting... any help please?
Hi all!

I was happily loading the game for my first time, but I just got a short black screen and then got kicked back to desktop. I tried a second and a third time (not as hopeful as before, I have to admit), and same thing happened... so I can't play the game ¬¬

Any idea or suggestion on how to fix it? Is that just a bug?

Thank you all!!

Hi dear friend

If you have a headset with a USB connector, I suggest you unplug the headset then run the game. Commandos series are not compatible with USB headsets. This is a common issue with some other games and software as well.
unplug my usb headphones and problem solved
Right click the EXE file for the game in your Steam folder, check the enable Compatibility Mode box, select Windows XP Service Pack 3 from the drop-down menu, and click OK. You're good to go!

Thank you all guys!

Unfortunately, I have tried each of your suggestions (disconnecting all the usb stuff from my pc, enebling compatibility mode for windows xp sp3, using driver booster utility for deleting all unplugged drivers...), but still the same thing (i just get a short black screen and back to steam - desktop).

So... any other ideas will be much appreciated, it would be funny to remember some good old times playing commandos though... ;)

By the way, I am running windows7.

Thanks again for your help!!

Bests.

I have no USB device, just an external keyboard and I disconnected and still crash.

Try compatibility mode with windows 7.
