Commandos 2: Men of Courage

Commandos 2: Men of Courage

Commandos 2 multiplayer
I am trying to play co-op with my friend.
We can connect to each other and be in the same lobby where you choose characters and what not. But as soon as we start the game, a popup shows with "Waiting for other players." My friend gets this as well. If we wait it out, it says "Waiting for other players too long.. connection lost.."

We tried both through hamachi and without.

Hi dear friend, Commandos 2 use P2P network in multiplayer. I suggest you get your direct ping to your friend. this shouldn't be more than 250, although you may face such issues.

May I ask you, where are you and your friend from? (Which countries)

I found a solution. You have to type your own hamachi ip address in order to make a lobby. Dont make a lobby via the LAN menu, just type your own ip address in the box and then create a lobby. You shouldn't have any problems this way.

His problem is about after connecting. He can access the game lobby with his friend.

So many things have been changed from 2017 until now.

First of all, I got surprised by your ping as you said it is 40. Second, it is possible to play commandos both on LAN and Hamachi. There are hundreds of people still play this game. You are both from Denmark, and you have terrific 40ms ping, so why not find the issue and enjoy the game. I can help you in this case as I still this game with my friends. If you wish, please feel free to add me so that we can troubleshoot the issue step by step.

I know what was his and my problem and I gave him a solution. You could clearly see me asking if he solved this issue. I know what he meant. I managed to find the solution the day after, so I shared it here. Maybe someone will need it.

Whenever I made a lobby through LAN menu my friend could connect to the lobby, but when the game started "waiting for other players" pop up showed up and we couldn't play.

As I said You have to type your own ip address in the Internet connection box in order to make a lobby, and then your friend have to use the same ip to connect to the lobby. Simple as that. No issues anymore.
