Commandos 2: Men of Courage

Commandos 2: Men of Courage

Is there a fix to play this on Windows 10? [SOLVED]
When launching it either doesn't launch or says:

'The application was unable to start correctly'

I've been looking for weeks, months for a fix and can't seem to find one that ACTUALLY works.

I would apreciate if somebody would guide me to a fix, it would mean a lot.

Thanks

I tried to play Commandos 2 Men Of Courage on Windows 10, but it seems that this game has problems to run in this version. But I played Commandos Behind Enemy Lines and Commandos Beyond the Call of Duty normally, both worked fine until the end.

Is there any fix for Commandos 2 in windows 10?

He usado la misma solución dada por Renziito para "Commandos 3: Destination Berlin" y ....¡abracadabra!, funciona perfectamente en Windows 10. Eso sí, hay que ejecutar el juego desde Steam

I think he is saying that we have to run the game using Steam, but I tried this way and nothing happened.

I too am looking for a solution to get C2 running.. C1 and C1+ i played and completed just fine and C3 seems to work fine without any fixes required (although I haven't gone beyond the menu screen because I was hoping to play them in order).

For C2 steam library changes status to "running" and (after activating "Direct Play" Windows feature) a blank taskbar icon briefly appears, but then the icon disappears and the status in steam library disappears as well.

So far I've tried: -32bit startup command, running as admin in ALL old windows compatibility modes, resolving the "could not start correctly" error by validating game files, uninstalling and reinstalling, removing random files from the games folder to have them reacquired when validating game files etc, all to no avail..

Any other suggestions that I've missed?

Ok. I thoguht maybe, well ive had similar problems but ive been on a amd rig, but recentlie i bought a gaming laptop which had intel an nvidia chipsets in it and it worked perfectly but unfortunally it crapped out on me again. The only thing I did was removing norten and installing avast. I thought maybe that could be something but Ive since tried and uninstalling avast and reinstalling norten and it dident do squat. And since you guys dont have it.. then, honestly ive tried and tried this ♥♥♥♥ for a long time, comm 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. I think its just time to tell myself that ive played it for the last time.

Try going to properties of the game and clicking on compatibility and put it on Run in Windows XP Service Pack 2 and also click on run in 640. Thats how I mangaed to play old gta games.

This way is not sufficient. I had cheked. In additional it is need to turn on the Direct Play support (in the Win10 setting) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XYyGB-Tn3g And to turn on WinXP compatibility. After these actions it will work good

This is what worked for me.
