Box Maker is not connecting to server... why?

So I just bought this game for my son because he saw some YouTubers playing it. And now it won't connect to the server. It just tries to connect forever, then says the connection was lost and to try again. We've tried a million times refreshing it, but that doesn't work. We've tried opening it on a different, newer computer, still nothing. Tried playing it at different times of the day in case maybe the server was full... no change. Has anyone else experienced this or know what we might be able to do to troubleshoot it?

Same problem.. Everbody has the same problem nobady is coming into the servers lets just wait ti'l the creators fix it (sorry for bad english)

It's been dead for many months. Doubtful it will ever be fixed at this point. My kids loved this game for a long time, despite its many, many flaws. Now they can't play it at all. They keep trying every once in a while, but to no avail. I can't understand why this hasn't been removed from the store. How can Steam keep selling this completely non-functional game???

Real shame was kind of neat being able to make maps but it did have its issues and now this... oh well. Not sure why on store page still.

The game was shut down in 2020, but it may be possible to create a replacement server.
