Report a translation problem
In steam settings, go to "controller" and click on the "enable steam input for xbox controllers" then restart the game.
You may also be able to solve it via:
Going into Windows Device Manager -> Human Interface Devices -> Disable the "HID-compliant game controller"
You may need to restart your PC after this.
May just be that every other game you've used it with has native DS5 support, but Descenders was released before said support was available (or at least a common feature) so its input needs to be converted to xinput (or whatever the XBOX controller driver is called these days), which is what steaminput can do.
