saved 4 the zero day,i can really understand(or maybe not "really") every person who wanted to commit suicide even we have only a short conversation,everyone's life and everyone's career were so different from each other,but why they all end up climbing on the suicide bridge?
Cause life sucks but,is beautiful as well.

I myself is just at the turning point in my life( or hard time to be honest*poor English)I want to apply for a degree in Game Design(or interactive entertainment something) in USA but cannot even pay for the training to make my portfolio,parents got divorced and some problems cause me into failing the gaokao ,and am gonna to study something i do not like
The past 2 months were just like a nightmare But I'll try hard to realize my dream of working at a game studio (really*),so i will keeping searching for ways to address financial difficulties i do not wanna let my life go heading to a tragic end

I recently bought and completed this 4 times for all achievements and honestly I really can't recommend this game. Choices don't matter, even if you save everyone possible you still get hate mail from the people who jumped, and even if you let all 36 people jump you still receive money from the people you saved and their families. There are a few typos I saw, and they call everyone him, even the ones that are obviously women. There are also a few glitches, people will just change into someone entirely different sometimes, when they climb on or off the bridge. At one point I was sitting down then my character just slides all across to the other side without getting up. There are 4 endings total, and the two standard endings you get for playing completely through the game are so bland.

Also some of the depictions are so disrespectful. People who are in crisis don't say YOLO before they jump, and at one point you have to sing song lyrics to one person and another is just a reference to the movie " the room" There is also a person who is being haunted by a ghost, and the ghost threatens you if you let her live, and guess what? Again it doesn't matter.

There's also a ton of "toxic positivity" There are a few people who want to end themselves for good reasons, stage 4 cancer really hurts and they're in so much pain with not long to live, yet you try to deny their choice to go peacefully and on their terms, The game does have a bias on Catholicism however with the concept of "mortal sin" so that's to be expected unfortunately


The game is only 5 bucks, so I decided to try it and honestly I left feeling jaded, I expected nothing and was still disappointed. Life isn't always beautiful.

I played the prologue for Wait! Life is beautiful! and found its take on suicide awareness interesting, then I got a key for the full game and became soured at how the game and its premise evolved - from delving into someone's mental breakdown and an epiphany to become a saviour to those about to take their own life at a "suicide bridge" - to quickly degenerating into memes about repeating Rick Astley lyrics, carrying out the tasks of vengeful spirits, more church talk than necessary, dealing with cults, and ending with domestic terrorism. The narrative took such a sharp turn, where it became more a parody/satire of suicide awareness and "helping" others, that I couldn't take it seriously any more.

I made the choice to have my character arrested by police and assist in blowing up the suicide bridge... with no conclusion about my character or the consequences of these actions. I need to delete my save file and start over again to get another ending, maybe? No, I don't think I will. I really enjoyed the little segments before and between days spent trying to save people at the bridge, though. I wish there were more of them. The phone call between the mother and my character where they just "grey rocked" the whole time was pretty familiar to me lol...

Wait! Life is beautiful! takes on the subject of suicide. A daring subject matter to express, explain, and handle, and I must say I admire this game for trying to cover this surreal subject.

You play as Will, a hard-working young man with a mundane life. Every day is the same in grueling 9 to 5 job with constant repetitive phone calls from clients. The day ends with a call from the boss about how much money you’ve made for the company.
Days just fade in and out with this life. Until you hear about the Suicide Bridge; a bridge where people who have given up on their lives come to end it.

Suddenly, you find a different purpose in life; you want to help these people, you want to convince them to Wait! Life is Beautiful!

Gameplay; Wait! Life is Beautiful! Is an interactive psychological thriller. The game plays out like a story, where you don’t intervene until the last moment. During conversations with 1 or more NPCs, you will be prompted with multiple questions, sentences, and answers.

Multiple scenarios play out during the game, each with their own role in the progression.

Office scenario: this plays out through multiple phone calls; each phone call asks weird and awkward financial questions. Choosing answers wisely will prompt your boss to say, “Well done”.

Restaurant scenario: you meet two friends after work every day. Let the conversation between the three of you play out and wait for the chance to ask questions. The first two prompts will lead more deeply into the lives of your friends. Choosing the appropriate question will prompt dialogues between the three of you about your lives, in which you will discover more detail about your friends’ lives. Asking the wrong question will end the meet up for the day.

Suicide Bridge scenario; you wait until someone passes by and either tries to interact with you or tries to end their life. Here is where the main part of the story/gameplay occurs. As soon as someone tries to end their life, the same scenario will play out every time; Will walks up to the person while keeping some distance and the conversation starts with Wait! Life is Beautiful!

The person in question will either try to warn you off or will give a small hint about what has happened. From here you will be prompted with multiple questions and answers to calm him/her down. Same as before; each question/answer will prompt a different dialogue and in the final choices, the person will decide either to back off or jump.

Underbridge camp: here you have nothing to do. You will receive multiple messages from friends, family, people you have saved, or you people who are upset about your actions. Here’s where your game gets saved after each day at the bridge, which I found to be very annoying and repetitive.

Saving progression: by far the worst aspect of the game is its game-saving system. There are no checkpoints in the Suicide Bridge Scenario until the day is over and the game moves to your Under Bridge Camp, which I found very annoying. If you quit the game during the bridge scenario, it doesn’t matter how much time you spend, it won’t count until the under bridge camp scenario and you will lose your progress. There should be both proper autosave with multiple checkpoints and manual save options.

Dialogues: although dialogues are an important part of this game, it feels like the script comes up short in many ways. The dialogues between three friends in the restaurant scenario feel repetitive and boring, where it should fun, even though we are talking about something dull or serious. Trying to convince someone not to commit suicide, for the most part, is okay, but you’re talking to someone who’s broken and in a bad state of mind. I feel like the dialogue options should have more emotion, sympathy, and maturity built into it.

Visuals: Visually pleasing 2D pixelated world. Combined with the well-made sound effects, these visuals look good and playout very well.

I can see the type of message about mental health and suicide the game is trying to open. While I am very impressed by the concept, in the end, it doesn’t resonate with an actual mental health patient like me or any other person that I know. But the game tries to convey a common message that I believe people should explore.

why is there a rick roll in a game about suicide

Manage to find this by pure coincidence. I, admittedly, was a bit skeptical of how the subject matter would be handled, but was really surprised the way it was crafted. There were so many different people I met, so many different stories and views. I was never fully confident in anything, but that's a good thing. As someone who has been in that position several times, it really hit home. I wanted to shout at them through my screen and tell them it'd all be okay, but of course that was never an option to begin with.

A really great game that makes you think and live with your choices. As I said, the subject matter is handled well. The music is beautifully melancholic, the writing is amazing, and each individual I met feels like an actual person, not a typical NPC with dialogue. If by chance, someone needs to read this: Words can't fully describe how it feels, every time I was *this* close to dying, I realized that everything that led me to that point could be fixed. Don't get me wrong, it was a tough, hard road. But I found support where I thought I had none, and proved every (noun expletive) who doubted me wrong by exceeding their expectations so far that I lapped them. You are loved, you can do this, and you got a lot of jerks to prove wrong too <3

I have a question for you:

Is Life Beautiful?

You can save the answer for later, after you finish this little piece of writing from me. This game has a very dark story, centering around an equally dark topic. It's suffocating to play knowing what happened in the game probably happened somewhere in real life too. It's even more suffocating knowing how meaningful our words could be. We can feel the weight of our words in every line of dialogue we deliver. We tried to talk them out of their foolish decision, to save them. Every time we fail we feel sad, horrified, gut-wrenched, and every time we succeed we fell glad, contempt because we saved them.

Did we really saved them?

Did we really saved them? Or we have just put them into more suffering? Living for some is a blessing, a gift that should be cherished, appreciated. But for some others, it is nothing but suffering, pain and misery. Is that life? Is that what they wanted? Certainly not, or perhaps it is? We'll never know, we just keep saving without thinking, we don't even know why we're doing this.

But that's life, the thing is life is unfair to everyone. Some were born privileged, some were not; Some faces hardships, some gone through with ease. It is unfair to everyone, but that is what makes life fair. It's ironic, yet logical. Life is a mystery, everyone have a different view towards it for it shows different faces to different people. Some may find it beautiful, but there is always others who have different opinion. Just like before, life for some is a gift, a blessing. But for some others, it is nothing but suffering, for them death is the only salvation. We couldn't blame them for taking the so called "Easy Way Out", for we never will really understood what was their life like. That's life, things happens. We could only hope for the best, and keep on reflecting ourselves.

What do we really want? What is our purpose? What will be our story? How would life be if we kept going? Most importantly, what is life? We could only know the answer ourselves, for everyone have different life. If you ask me: "Is Life Beautiful?". I'd say it's quite a sight.

I was invested in this game when I started playing it, but after a while it got extremely cheesy and unaware of itself. Between all of the joke characters and the really corny ending, this game just really isn't all that good. There's so many more things that could have made it better. Like, why can't we as the player have more of a response than in those letters? Why is there basically no punishment for running out of money? Why is the main characters sanity shown liniarly instead of diegetically through the way he interacts with people? Why is there this unstoppable death cult?

The worst thing about it is that the game says the goal isn't to save everyone, but just to 'make you think'. That kinda sounds like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to me when the entire point of the game is to save everyone, and the game **punishes** you for not saving everyone, through both the gameplay and the achievements. If there were more to the game than just pressing dioluoge options, I could understand helping people not being the only point.

This could have been a game that explores what happens to a man pushed to the edge, trying everything he can to fix everything and save everyone-- without caring for himself. It could have taken a realistic, mature, apropriate look at suicide. But instead, it feels like I'm playing a .exe game off of gamejolt.

The worst thing is that this game had soooo much potential, but it feels like a joke after everything is said and done. If you want to play a game that takes a far better aproach to dealing with suicide, try missed messages., or Don't Take This Risk. Those games take suicide 100% seriously, this game just uses it.

to put it simply, this is a very repetitive, just on the fence of boring game that has a few interesting things to say and a few interesting things here and there, but i could not take it seriously after the rick roll. while it was """amusing""" it ruined the little immersion i had been building up and saving people became a joke to me, i stopped caring. if the game itself doesnt take itself seriously, i wont either.

i liked the premise, and i liked how things were going, but man... the rick roll had me questioning why i even opened it. the minigames at the end of the nights dont really make sense and are not fun to play, either.

After playing a bit of this game I must say I am a bit disappointed. I had high hopes for this game and thought it would be something to bring about a bit of emotion. However, I found myself unable to connect to our main character and to be honest any of the characters. It felt hollow and forced and harshly tacky. When dealing with a subject such as this, there needs to be a connection built to keep your player engaged and emotionally vested. If you are not connected, the meaning is lost and small things stand out in a bad way. The jumping mini game - was unnecessary and left many of my viewers wondering about the validity of the purpose of this adventure. For me, when I decided to venture into a game like this - I am doing it for the emotional connection and thought provoking situations that can be brought about. However this left me feeling cheap and tacky, and overall unhappy with the experience.
