Stuck near Wind Tower (is there a guide anywhere?)

I know I'm probably missing something very simple but I am stuck at the part where I have to find someone living near Wind Tower (I've already spoken to Robert at the marketplace). Ive tried scouting every point, and I believe I've looked into every building. Where do I need to go to progress?

Is there a guide for this game anywhere? It would be most useful considering guidance within game is minimal and I can imagine some players getting frustrated.

After speaking with Robert, a new question mark South of the Wind Tower should appear. Head there to meet Robert's friend!

Thanks for the reply. I can see a path going south west to the road and a path going south east to the forest, but neither seem to have Roberts friend... There is nothing directly south of the tower, either on the overworld map or the town mini map.

Do you have the active quest in your diary?

'The Wolf Pack: Meet Robert's Friend' is the only item in the diary. I assume this means it is active.

I guess then that this is a bug. If it helps track it down, I would add that speaking to Robert is literally the last thing I did after speaking to everyone else in town; I even left to complete the church scavenge quest before seeing him. Maybe this odd behaviour threw the quest script off.

I think you must be referring to the console command, I have tried the following to no avail:
StartDialogue Act 1/The Wolf Pack
StartDialogue Act 1/Meet Roberts Friend
StartDialogue Act 1/Meet Robert's Friend
Please could you give the correct wording?

That is the correct wording, "Meet Fang", which is Robert's friend! Incidentally, that post was about the same exact issue.

Thanks, silly me. That did progress the story.

Unfortunately I am immediately stuck again. Journal says I need to find someone at the junkyard and should ask locals about it. Ive gone through all the dialogue options with all the characters in Wind Tower and nothing new has shown up. No question marks or new locations have appeared either.

Wish there was a basic quest guide so that I knew if Im being stupid or its borked again.

You need to talk with people in the Junkyard, and see who knows something about the mercenary group. Fang clearly states: «He likely knows more about them. But to find him, we'll need to ask one trader at the Junkyard. They're partners, so she'll know how to get to him.»

So, you need to talk with the trader. The Junkyard is a different settlement, you can find it South of the Wind Tower. I feel like you are not aware of the fact that the map can be moved! Use wasd keys or hold the right mouse button to pan the map and explore the whole world. That's why you were unable to find Fang!

You are right about that. My bad. Maybe consider tutorialising map camera movement by making us pan over a couple sites of interest at the start, or allow panning without clicking.

There's a tutorial, but sadly we couldn't create complex and nice tutorials and we had to settle for simple texts. We will definitely consider your idea of allowing a free map movement, that should be easy to do!
