Stuttering and Frame Rate Issues
We are aware of an issue with our DX12 implementation that can cause PC players to encounter stuttering, a hard crash or shader cache issues due to an overloaded CPU.

We are investigating this urgently and hope to provide a resolution in the near future.

POTENTIAL WORKAROUND:
  • Select the "Play Outriders- DirectX11" launch option when starting the game.
  • Alternatively, force DX11 to run the game via a command line

In Steam : Outriders Demo -> Manage -> Properties -> Launch option-> Write the below in the textbox without the " "

    "-force -dx11"
Please also check whether you have the latest NVIDIA Game Ready installed. If you currently have the latest driver already installed, please consider rolling back to the previous driver to see if this affects anything.

Alternative Workarounds:
  • Disable Ansel
  • Disable DLSS
  • Turn Vsync off
  • Enable your FPS Limiter and choose various limits to see if improvements are made
  • Ensure Controller Configuration is supported (thread)
  • Exclude the Outriders game folder in Windows Defender.
    • Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
    • Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings > Exclusions > "Add or remove exclusions".
    • Select Add an exclusion,
    • Select folders and add the Outriders game folder in steamapps/common

Please note that we are also aware of an issue whereby stuttering can occur whenever you visit a new area or encounter new enemies/powers etc. This should only occur the FIRST time however, with subsequent visits being stutter-free.

I have the same issue, stuttering all the time. My CPU is sleeping so It is not an CPU overload issue. 10900k @ 5GHz, no cores go higher than 30% utilisation on DX12.
Same issue here, 8700k @ 4.9ghz + rtx 3080

the game was completely unplayable before i have a GTX 2080 super. I switched nvidia drivers to the studio 461.92 driver and the game runs well on ultra directx 12.

Its strange as the Demo ran perfectly fine. This on the other hand is unacceptable.

Could you confirm whether the stuttering is only encountered in new areas or if it is present in previously visited areas as well?

Keeps happening in like every 3-6 seconds in both new and previously loaded areas.

(Game is on an SSD)

Was using 6 month old nvidia drivers, the game ran smooth, tried the new 465.89 drivers and I was getting lots of micro stutters and losing about 10 frames randomly while playing, now using 461.92 drivers and the game is silky smooth again and back to stable frames. Don't use the latest nvidia drivers.

It was crashing every 10-20 minutes on dx12, so i switched it over to dx11. Now it crashes before it even gets to the main menu. At least there's an error log this time.

it appears that every time you right-click or "zoom" the game forces a view distance change and loads in a bunch of assets which causes stutters as it needs to load assets every time you right-click? Anyone can confirm this?

Can get the game to launch ...keep on getting the error: Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource...blabla. Installed on my streaming PC...game crashes to desktop. Will not ask for a refund. What a joke.

DX12 with a 3080, have tested every setting possible and still running into stuttering every minute or so. Demo also ran super smoothly.

The game has connection issues, mostly i can't conect (timeout). The stuttering on a Ryzen 5950X and 3090FE It extreme and make the game unplayable. It is more extreme then it was in the demo, i was thinking the fix it but technically this game is just waste. Forcing "force -dx11" is still starign game in DX12, also when select on the Start-up menu. But important is - the nVidia advretising and the annoying epilepsy screen is wokring, this was maybe the day one focus? This is a big surprise people want play the game, so ooooh wonder - servers are overloaded. Unbeliverable and crazy mess, even high end system just stutter...
