What does "avg" on the player levels mean?

Sorry for the stupid question, it's something that I am seeing now as of this latest update and I don't believe it's been explained anywhere?
Atleast I could find nothing about it in the player guide.

My friend is apparently at "AVG 22" where as I am "AVG 1"

I assume: Average. In the past, "average level," referred to the average level of your equipped gear. So, if your friend has a level 20, a level 24, and an even mix of 21s and 23s, they'd show up as, "average 22."

Not sure if that's what you're seeing.

Good question , AVG 50.. Maybe it the gear score ?

It was added this patch .. it right below ya character in yellow , in the lobby ,can't miss it .
