I went anomaly on Trickster and its far easier to manage until you get all the necessary damage mods to melt your enemies before they melt you.
in fact , i put the shotgun on my techno , compared with my trickster , my DMG got doubled even without any shotgun buff :( , speechless............. maybe my trickster build is trash , i dunno
now , for me , techno is the only way to clear T15 with no difficulty , if u want a massacre
AR BRUST always ur friend
I have a question: Would putting points into shield and shield buffs be any good?
I have a weapon that gives me shield on shot and the middle tree looks nice with 20% more shield but you lose so much damage. Is it worth it? I'm unsure if expert Tricksters even use Shield for anything.
1. Defence does not matter. Use mitigation from death as your only defensive mod, just because of rifleman. Aside of that go full dps. Trickster survivability comes from him insta killing everything.
2. Deathshield is garbage. Use darkness charmer. Most important thing on your guns is NOT dps. Its time to kill.
3. Cowl is impossible to find, forget it exist, use refill 20% ammo on killing shot instead.
4. One shooting captains is required for smooth gameplay. Keep boosting your damage untill captains die on 1 hit.
I would sort of disagree on Deathshield being garbage. Combat and auto shottie do have variants to it, but if you're going to risk it all with 1 defensive mod, Deathsield + Dark Sacrifice is a scary thing. However, the sad part is that if you're playing Trickster only, you're gimping yourself of a very important mod (Sharp Eye), which is only available from Technomancer.
Just to add on this, Trickster alone has it hard to most classes solo, but in team combat there is enough fun to be had with them.
Have you ever seen a trickster with a trespasser set? They can cc enemies for an extremely long distance for up to 7 seconds. The better part about it is that they can continue this cc effect another two more times when against elites or bosses (with the exception of EoTS and Pax). Support tricksters don't tank, they just cc the entire field apart and use slow field to control (and if timed right, replenish ammo of fellow FP builds which you usually see).
What you said is precisely whats wrong with deathshield. I am assuming you are running fortress+ds. it takes 3-5 shots to kill a captain, unless you headshot but its not that reliable. During that time you have to tank, which forces defensive mods. In summary: Deathshield makes you take damage, and long time to kill.
Now lets look at darkness charmer, grand opening+ds. Use vk from afar that staggers and slows, htp, and captain disappeared. Free healing.
What about crowds? On paper deathshield is great due to high rate of fire, but since bodies block bullets that often hamper badly both its dps and ammo economy. And if your buffs arent up and you need 2 shots to kill, thats bad.
Darkess charmer? shoot crowd once from long range triggering mass grand opening, which triggers mass grave.
1 defensive mod with darkness charmer is NOT high risk play. Its just about deleting everything so fast it cant harm you. Keep firing and you can facetank everything maintaining full hp and shields. There are only 3 locations in game where i am careful with charging in the middle of it. Drough palace vs 5 captains, frontline, 2nd or 3rd location, one where you storm hill, and tightly grouped squad behind blast doors in chem plant.
For ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles I set my health to 100,000.
That right. Still got 1 shot. Not just 1 time. But multiple times.
So I figured why not go for broke. Infinite health.
That right. Still got 1 shot. Multiple times.
And I want to pause here for a minute and let this sink in.
Infinite
Health.
Still got killed (multiple times) in 1 hit.
1 hit kill rate on my trickster is around 4-5 times...per hour. With infinite health.
It is pretty obvious now that there are some major components of the game that are just critically broken and in desperate need of repair.
its not just trickster i was running a party through ct10 last night and got one shotted by a crawler i had no damage 104k armor
