"how are you doing?
"how long have you been playing?"
"which quest do you want to do next?"
"this next boss is kind of hard, make sure you do X"
"which mod should I use on this weapon?"
okay, and if you don't know anyone else that plays, how do you meet people to play with? matchmaking puts you with people around your level and around your point in the campaign, how easy would it be to add them so you can keep playing...?
only the ornery people respond, there are a lot of chill guys and gals who play this game but never come onto the forum
In reality, it will be a lot of:
"Hey res me!" over and over, when they go down.
"Your Internet @#$!" "Your build @#$!" "You @#$!" but instead of your, they will type you're.
Plus a whole lot of other language people anonymously type on the Internet.
Outriders is a frustrating game because only certain builds work, and that frustration added to typical gamer jerky behavior is not a good combination for chat.
In addition, the expeditions are straightforward. Shoot, run to the next area, shoot some more. There are no puzzles where you need to direct someone.
As you can see. They're quite special!
I am like you, I made most if not all my steam friends through ingame text chats, while asking or answering questions, helping or getting helped etc.
There are still many games with text chat, and it has always been bearable, no matter the spammers or toxic users.
Sometimes you /ignore them, or opt out of general or zone chats, or just dont care bout em.
Massive mmos like wow, eso, ff etc have their good deal of gold sellers, spammers etc, and its not an issue.
