I don't need to.

They made a game with all the negative aspects of a live service without any sort of positive.

Then charged the cost of a second full game for bugger all.

My sympathies for your sorrow. :p2cube:

I enjoyed the game, I just wish it had more end game content. :( But I had fun with what was there and felt like I got my money's worth.

300 playing on steam on the PEAK season and time to play.

vs Destiny 2 - 60k.

yeah. pretty dead.

Steam just needs a confidence/trust rating for such game devs and publishers to prevent the steam users from thoose cash grabs. They wont turn it to a offline game, when they shut the servers down and the game gets another unplayable corpse in the library.

The recommendations on one game doesnt display who much dogs*** devs and publishers brought up before and what kind of a mess it was. They allways can just go away without taking ANY responsibility for cash grabbing previously.

Thats just besides the awful price vs content rating in Outriders.

To be honest, Outriders cannot be fully compared to a game like Destiny 2, or Warframe or anything, but rather compared to a series like Gears of War in terms of cover looter-shooter game.
I enjoyed the game so much that I completed all the achievements, after I've previously landed more than 70 hours on the Xbox game pass.
Sure, it had bugs at launch, but what game didn't ever xD.
What killed it was the poor marketing, or rather low investment in marketing.

Some flaws on the combat that I personally did not enjoy, but other than that, a nice game experience; worth every buck.

Played it, enjoyed it, moved on.

Please continue to act like every game needs to live on forever.

^this.
People treat it like it's a live service. Never was, never will be.
You require internet connection, but after all that it's a peer-to-peer connection. It's not running on any servers like all these dumbknuckers do on the forum/discussions. If you get disconnected it's because your connection is not stable to sustain your own hosted session.

I enjoyed it, and it was nice! The DLC felt fresh.

that's why I never go into the comment section.
Personally, I stay away from this guy's channel. While I'm sure he has valid arguments against whatever he mentions in his video, he's probably missing the point, and I can see that clearly from his comment section fanbois and the guy that started this thread.

It's not a game that's supposed to have a playerbase with thousands of active players daily.
It's not Destiny 2, It's not Warframe, IT'S NOT A LIVE SERVICE. It doesn't come with a battlepass, neither pushes cosmetics the second you enter the main menu.
It's a singleplayer experience designed to allow players to play it as a multiplayer experience as well (coop).

I've been working for quite a while in the game industry and seeing how people treat video games and how much they demand out of them; it just makes me wanna switch back to IT in Web Development and double my salary instead of trying to create nice experiences through video games for other people.

A lot of belittling and demeaning from everyone, including other game developers, but what hurts the most is that this sort of crap comes from developers that made their way through game industry with bootlicking and switching one company to the other (I know a few), without breaking any sweat along the way (the crunch, the self-enforced overtime hours just to give more than your 100% and make something nice out of the project, the passion, the love, everything).

I hate this.

If only developers had been TRANSPARENT about their actions and owned them, gamers would not have been so outraged. STOP signing NDAs! Or just quit the Gaming Industry back to IT. :steamsalty:

I feel like this game would've gotten a lot more traction if they made it similar to the Borderlands series, a singleplayer title with optional co-op, instead of being an always online game. A lot of the criticism for the game when it came out concerned server and connectivity issues, game crashes, and also the "signing in" loop. Borderlands wasn't too revolutionary or fantastic recently, but still they are fairly decent games that were well-received, despite some major flaws in the story and writing department. The game also felt like it was balanced towards co-op rather than singleplayer.

This is a huge Truth. When I played Outriders in the free weekend, one of the reasons I dropped was this obvious unbalance favoring Co-op. I refuse to depend on Co-op to enjoy the game.

I didn't depend on coop to enjoy the game, i just lowered the tier a bit when things got ridiculous and raised it again after. Only one player ever joined me and I was never able to find any one WHATSOEVER with matchmaking, tried at least a dozen times over the 2 playthroughs and gave up. The endgame, like all endgames never interested me as i never saw the point of it.

"Stop signing NDAs"
And not get a job?
And have dumb employees spoil the game from the prototype phase?
And have dumb employees purposely sabotage the marketing and the development just because they had a bad day?

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. YOU dont work in the game industry, and neither does that guy, or at least he probably worked for a short while.
As a developer you cant be transparent to your customers/players. You can be transparent and say only what your publisher allows you to.
You can PUBLISH your game only if your publisher allows you to.
You can implement and develop certain systems only if your PUBLISHER allows you to.

You really have no idea what being a game developer is. Please stop being so opinionated on subjects you have no knowledge about.

I finished it solo 3 times (3 times main game, 2 times DLC). Played with all the classes, but stuck with Technomancer, Devastator and Trickster. I did have the occasional coop guy that joined and left on-the-go.
Maybe you didn't find the right class that suits your gameplay style.

I think you should REthink your career, mate. You are too defensive, outraged, stressed for nothing, almost like you are too insecure about your future. You refuse at all costs to watch the video and want to lecture mee about "having no idea", ha. Watch the videos and come back here later, only then your opinion will have value.
