I can see why this game failed
After beating main game I can see where it all went wrong.
The last half the game just gets ridiculously repetitive.

The story was mildly interesting but could have have been a lot better by having iconic landmark scenes ( Dragon age )

The biggest issue I find with the game are the boss fight lockouts.
If you can't beat the boss you literally have no way of going back to camp.
Your only option is to keep losing World XP until you win.

It is a terrible design decision - as well as many of the boss fights.
Since the abilities are poorly designed.

If you hit the boss with too many intrrupt abilities they become immune. Bosses get Garunteed damage attacks which you need to interrupt.

Problem is only one skill has instant interrupt - while other skills is delayed interrupt. Which the speed of insta damage casts by bosses it forces you to pick a very specific skill.

Many Weapon mechanics require some sort of kill to trigger ontop of it.
Making boss fights not feel fun but more of an abussive relationship with the player.

I can say with confidence after beating the game, no interest in playing anymore.
Devs should have incorporated the movement and combat of Bullet storm into Outriders - added free form movement and made bosses actually enjoyable to fight.

Don't say bad things about gameplay here. The Defenders will Assemble any moment.

That boss immune thingy was straight from Warframe I think.
Everyone hated that silly boss mechanic in Warframe. Its implemented to prevent ppl from one shotting the boss with a single ability or repeated mechanics.

Its only in games where elites/boss combat encounters were not properly designed to incorporate the systems of the game. Thats why I never find them to be boss encounters as much. Its just a marathon thats it.

Isn't Warframe its a Standard MMO mechanic from old games that uses a Stun Threshold with a temporary invunerability phase. You use a stun skill when a Big MMO boss is about to do some major attack.

But the issue here is abilities that stun. Temporal Blade on Trickster for example only stuns at the very end of its animation. The problem being of course Boss "homing" attacks -are extremely quick cast. So temporal blade doesn't work - only levitate which applies interruptoin at beginning of cast.

That is only the tip of the iceberg on issues though.

There are also cover objects you think are cover are not.

You randomly stop running because of something 1 inch tall on the ground

You are on fire and want to dodge roll instead your guy jumps over cover
( Could be fixed by removing fire by climbing over cover )

Things you think are climbable are not climable

Things you think could be "jumped off of" can't be jumped off of

Rifts which have HP - you would think would rejuvinate you for killing them do not.

I don't even know why pistols exist

Outriders would have been amazing if it were Bullet Storm - multiplayer.
All that crazy action and movement from Bullet storm would have made this game amazing.

No idea honestly what they were thinking.
They literally had the perfect Formula - they pretty much invented it, and somehow were like Nah.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the cover system is beyond bad. I magnetically stick to random cover from mid range which clearly looks like it shouldnt happen. So immediately unfair death scenario. Just watch ppl come here saying ''oh unfair'' ''oh unfair'' '' git gud'' they dont know what unfair means. Unfair is when you followed the games rules perfectly but still the game cheated you.

Everything you listed has happened to me in absolute worst moments. The gameplay always leaves that unpolished feeling. Most stuff will work and then suddenly it will pull an Outriders.

I play Division 2 and Destiny 2 as well as many other looter shooters and mmo, so when I come back to this. It immediately feels rough. You will be in full control of your weapons, aim, cover, movement etc in those other games and they never ever feel unfair.

Also is it just me coz I keep getting 90% blues in expeditions. I just ran a WT8 and i got only 2 purples and all blue. Had this happen last time as well.

Also does higher tier give better loot or just better chance? Coz whats the point if its all blues all the way.

Lol that pistol comment cracked me up. I totally didnt realize how i have almost never used it outside of the demo.

Just hit start and read what the world tiers give you . This game wasn't made for easy mode at the higher tiers .. 95% of the player base have np clearing the higher tiers . This game isn't a cover game it not the division ..It is fast pace game ..The cover system in this game was a after thought by the dev's. Just place to get bit of breather.

After all the post you read E3XMachina you still don't get it . It seems no matter how many times people attempt to explain it to you , it seem's it above your comprehension level. Oh well life is "Unfair" .:steammocking:

One example was I was on fire, I wanted to dodge roll to put out the flames.
Instead what does the game do? It beams me to the cover further away then makes me jump over it instead of rolling.

Or I am running through the world to reach enemies that are 50 feet away. What happens? A tiny rock, not even an inch off the ground is like. Yo God - I know you got super powers and all but "THOU SHALL NOT PASS" then uses his rock staff to stop me suddenly.

There are just way to many issues to gloss over.

For me personally loot isn't an issue I am playing World Tier 12 before I gave up on the game.

My issue are these super annoying little things that pile up so high it makes the great obelisk in the game look like a tiny little sourvenier in comparison.

This game started out with a lot of great promise, I wanted to like this weird charming mess of literally every video game ever. What we got by midgame was "We have remnant at home" and it never recovered from the nosedive it faced. This whole "just drop world tiers" nonsense as a response to literally no balance is unacceptable because if the answer is to just drop world tier, why have world tiers?

The answer is the developers picked one build to build the game around, then threw two more trees in for flavor without any forethought as to making them functional. The very fact the gun skill tree doesn't do as much gun damage as the anomaly tree is very telling.

I dunno, I had a pretty good time with it even after the story. I think it depends on your build and class how well you'll do in the end game. Yea it gets repetitive but you could say diablo or the division is the same.

I figured out what kinda build I wanted when I finished the story, put my gear together and I got to 49/50 gear score. AP vanguard doesn't really have to worry about interrupts or staying alive. Spam skills/melee, win. It just matters how quickly.

I’m not gonna debate what it’s faults are or aren’t (as that is subjective) but I’m playing it on gamepass and enjoying it so far. I’m about 2/3 of the way through. Cover took a little getting used to but no issues after I understood the mechanics. My biggest complaint is the quest helper leads me a few wrong directions but nothing too time consuming since maps aren’t overly big. I’m playing it on gamepass. Glad I didn’t pay $60 for it as I think it’s more a $30-40 game but a fun shooter for me.

It not meant to be fair. That is what the world tier is about . Only the skilled like myself may pass :steammocking: .

As for geometry issue you describe , those aren't called unfair, but are call bugs.

Read above.. I have 6 characters . 1 FP pyro , 1 AP pyro , 1 FP techno , 1 Ap Techno , 1 FP trickster and 1 Ap Devastator .. All of them are all different build and all can solo CT 15.
So your nonsense about the developer picking one build is just that nonsense.

I am just happy to know that there are people like you who understand the severe issues.

I believe all the people who really get the issues aren't around and thats why theres 10 ppl left playing. Its the people with high tolerance who are still around here to defend the bs.

I AGREE ... This game could have been Great ... But with all bad design issues and decision that just are a Pain in the butt .. for most players, more than anything.

Endgame is a joke as far as I'm concern for SP and I'm solo player. I have no issues with main game at nearly 500 hrs of repeating the same old stuff ....... Finally got a build that works for me and I was lucky with some pre-installed mods in the right grouping.
As said before ( I don't like timers and did not see that in the info until it was to Late .. my bad, I guess )

Drops .. Still suck .. Have not had one that is equal to my level or that is close to firepower that I already have, even the Legendary are lower than my existing level gear.

It could have been good and what a shame.
