Is there a way to disable DX 12 from launch options?
I have a DX 12 GPU. ( RTX 2080 Ti )
When I launch the game from the taskbar,
the game always launches in DX12.
Which we all know is still really buggy,
and even makes most games unstable.

Is there a way to disable DX12 altogether,
either in windows, or a launch command in steam.
(e.g. outriders.exe -disabledx12)

You can also click Play from the game's page in Steam Library. You'll get an option to launch with DX11 or DX12.

Thank you both for your answers. Both very helpful.
Cheers!

try this first, dx12 may run better than dx11 for you afterwards.
Go to %LocalAppData%\Madness\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\Engine.ini , then add the following lines at the end of the file.

[SystemSettings]
r.VSync=0
r.Streaming.FullyLoadUsedTextures=1
r.Streaming.HLODStrategy=2
r.Tonemapper.GrainQuantization=0

But run the game from the steam folder because if you don't it will still run as Dx12

That launch prompt should be popping up when you launch it from the taskbar too.
