What build are you running?
Is your class tree complimentary to your build? I.e. weapon damage nodes for weapon damage
Is your gear rolled for the build you have? Firepower for weapons, anomaly for skills.
Are you using mods that synergise with your build?
I definitely suggest you read through the guides and builds. There are a plethora of suggestions and guides. Upgrading is very important and as well as the mods you use.
I'm in the same boat. I have a newborn. I afk a lot in game because the baby wants to be fed every hour. It's very doable.
Gear stats i use the ones with bonus firepower, skill leeche, weapon leeche, close range dmg and shotgun dmg and anomoly dmg, other mods are like area damage when using skill, hp heal on kill shots, shots do lightning dmg to enemies around, shots inflict slow and something else.
class tree ive messed with alot started from maxing out the top for acheviement but ended up doing as much weapon damage route in top tree and then mixed with bottom tree for as much anomoly dmg to try and balance the weapon and skill dmg and the extra dmg to elites and the dmg reduction from elites and extra mag amount
If you have no time to research builds and farm for specific gears, then this game might not be for you since you're time constrained. You don't even have to farm high level areas to get good god roll gears as long as you did your research and know exactly what build you're going for. Heck, my best pants is still the green one I leveled up from 10 all the way to epic level 50 since the stats on those pants is just the perfect combination for my build. And I can already solo some CT15 to gold (not all though) and can solo all at CT13 to gold.
Somehow you've managed to convince everyone here that you were just finding it difficult and that's why you've stopped playing. Or maybe they have just tried to convince you that's what the problem is? That may well be what's ruining it for you, but not for me. For me, the grind just isn't as much fun as other games and grinding is my thing. There's one thing to do, one timed game mode... do that, that's your lot. Some people are fine with that, some aren't. The endgame could use some repeatable, maybe random, missions imo that use some of the campaign content we left behind in the dust, at the very least.
These people claiming that the end of the endgame is the actual endgame are beyond hilarious. That's when you might as well stop playing because there's nothing else to do. It's the 'end'. There's no game left. Check your definitions. Seriously, go get your Google on. Endgame means the bit just before the end.
Even if you are enjoying what's already there, you all know it could be a lot better. They are likely to create expansions based on the game's financial success. Tell them what you would like to see instead of defending what it already has.
The problem is that many games ends up churning out more modes later on whether through DLC or season passes. Take Division 2 for an example. When it first came out, it didn't have much of an endgame other than redoing CP/missions/Tidal Basin/Roosevelt Island and I can't remember the other one. That's it. It later introduced Seasons which is cool then DLC then the summit. You can't have all these expectations that it'll come out with so many content in the end game.
Most games wait for at least a few months before it introduces another event or even mention DLC. I think there was a post about their progression so we do see more stuff planned.
I'm trying to make an excuse for them but people need to understand that most games produce more content after the release. Do I like it? No but that's just the way it is.
