Multiplayer Chatting?
So I started playing this game recently. And I wanted to play co-op with some random people. But I discovered the most puzzling thing I've ever seen in a supposedly co-op game. I have no way to chat with the other players. No voice chat. No text chat. Not even a pinging system. No way to tell the other player which quest I want to do. No way to tell the other player I need to AFK a minute. NO WAY TO COMMUNICATE WHATSOEVER!

This game desperately needs some kind of bare minimum chat system. Because joining someone's hosted game and being utterly unable to communicate is a game killer for a supposedly co-op game.

A pinging system that is visible both on the map and in the world would help, but that's really still not enough to effectively communicate more complex ideas. It's really only good for implying Look here! or Go there!. But this would be better than no communication system at all.

The game desperately needs an in-game text chatroom, at the very least, in my opinion. A small persistent text chatroom window, so players can at least let other players know which quest they want to do. And let others know when they AFK and/or when they are ready to proceed. Devs should have already implemented this prior to alpha phase of game development.

A built in voice chat system would also be nice, but that should be lower priority than implementing a basic chatroom window.

I know some people say, "lol, just use Discord." or whatever 3rd party tool. And that's fine for people you know outside of the game. But without an in-game chat window, how are you even supposed to tell someone what your Discord address is? You can't even convey that information without some basic communication system. And relying entirely on 3rd party communication tools for a co-op game is incredibly lazy and poor game design.

Game devs, get your act together and implement a text chat window for this game.

Also, I know the game has an emote system. But that is less than useless for actually communicating.

They've taken a page out of the books of the likes of Putin and Kim Jong; eliminating toxicity by silencing the masses.

Eliminating toxicity is a very poor excuse for not implementing a basic text-only chat window.

Even basic emotes/postures...like *needs a minute*...or *is ready to go*...hello...goodbye...thankyou...

Even if we did have those emotes, they are not broadcasted at all. So unless the person you're playing with is looking directly at your character, with a good viewing perspective for the emote, then the emote accomplishes nothing. The emote system is completely worthless for communication.

The game really needed a viable chat system on release. But better late than never.

Don't most looter shooters these days not have a chat system?

Reason they opted not to is the new rules for the ADA that they would have to comply with and they did not want to hassle with it. This has been brought up before.

Maybe they should add a pee pee dance emote.

This ADA thing is stupid as hell. Thanks for ruining video games for the sake of people who do not play video games in the first place...
