Why is the map so bad? Tips for finding quests?

Hi folks,

Don't know if I'm missing something but I have a terrible time trying to find the zones to start quests in. The map only shows you which zone you're in and not which direction you're facing. There also appears to be no in-game compass?

Some of the historian quests are not on the main path so now travelling back to find them I often find myself running around the map looking for the entrance to the zone. It would be really helpful to at least know what direction it's in.

What kind of outrider doesn't have a basic compass?

The shapes of the zones are accurate-ish on the map screen so if you can figure out where you are in-game on the full map you can somewhat figure out what direction to run to find your destination. It's still annoying though.

my best advice is to do the map then go back and do all the other stuff. The tab unless you changed it bugs out if you do a side quest. Other than that find a flag and look for environment to show direction. Its really annoying but the easiest way is to just clear main story then go back and do monster hunts, bounties ect so tab works properly

The compass has been requested many times but they are more concerned with nerfs to over used bullets

Thanks! I do find it really annoying in a few of the more complex maps where the entrance is some little path hidden in the grass. This is mostly the historian quests.

I don't follow the forums too closely, but good to hear a compass has already been requested.
