This is the situation I also encounter from time to time. It almost seems like the weapon only shoots single bullet instead of 3-bullet burst or full-auto. Releasing ADS button fixes it.
This often happens to me when I stutter-shoot--ADS, move forward, repeatedly press trigger and repeat. This is my old habit from other FPS where it was not advised to shoot while moving. It seems that when you press several buttons in quick succession the game "lags" and starts stuttering. It is a weird bug but it does not happen too often.
1. Definitely a game bug and not a hardware/driver issue. Doesn't happen in other games. Doesn't happen in the game prior to enemy spawns. There is a small chance that when enemies have spawned the glitch will initiate. I've been going to peaceful areas, aiming - no issue. Finally was able to replicate the glitch in one battle after enemies spawned. Had to exit and restart game to fix issue. I consider this a game breaking glitch.
2. some users in this thread have been telling me releasing ADS fixes this issue. I'm confirming this does NOT work, at least with the issue I have. ADS functionality - and firing rate is seems? - is affected for the duration of the engagement, basically ensuring your death if you are a weapons-focused build.
good to know it might be skill-related. I recently started casting skills in ADS for better precision. I'll see if that makes it occur more frequently
