It is becoming more and more true and I'm sorry you don't want to except it. I didn't, either.
most people who "pirate" a game actually only do it to try if the game is any good.... and if so then they buy it afterwards.
The reason for this is, that most companies nowadays don't hand out demos or do free test events for everyone (usually only for a handfull of people in closed beta with NDA) before a game gets released.
Pirating never hurt the gaming industry at all, it even helped with sales in longterm (just not on release day).
And BTW, Outriders didn't get pirated yet and never will because of it's structure how it is setup.
A multiplayer only game is a game where you cant play solo like MMO, and a solo game is a game where you dont need anyone else to play.
Borderland is a solo and multiplayer game.
I air on the side of caution. I know there was not actual discussion but all it takes is one.
Nope. It is a multiplayer game with a solo mode tacked onto it. Why not just go ask Gearbox what they classify it as internally? Go ask Randy actually, he talks all the time.
Witcher 3 is a single player game. There is NO online component, not even Gwent.
Not sure about a lot of what you said, but there's already a pirated/cracked version out there. It still supports your idea that their excuse for delaying piracy was a total failure though.
Excatly this, its beyond any reasonable explanation why a game that has just an optinal multiplayer/coop mode requires a permanent Internet connection. Games with similar features that and are allready much older handle this stuff way better than this game.
