The difficulty scaling is pretty frustrating
So I'm level 11, and I'm playing on world tier 6, but my god. Some of the gun fights take (what feels like) a good ten minutes to finish because it's YOU (an individual) versus like 100 enemies if not more and sometimes it feels like there are 20-30 people shooting at you. Cover seems useless because no matter where I hide there are enemies surrounding me. I feel like the game should recognize if you're playing solo or with people and adjust accordingly. It's like the game thinks I have two other people playing with me and I don't. Maybe I shouldn't be playing on world tier 6 at level 11, but I'm trying to play on harder difficulties to get better gear. Sure, the game will let you equip higher level gear, but it doesn't feel like it helps when you have you have to fight what seems like 30-40 enemies at one time and than 20 more take their place.

The game basically has FIFTEEN difficulties and I'd hate to see what the highest ones look like, I was already frustrated by world tier 4 and 5, and 6 is even worse. It's almost like the developers are somehow FORCING you to co-op if you want to take on higher world tiers, bu that kind of sucks for solo players. I don't really like co-oping, so I feel like, as I said, that the game should somehow recognize or scale to a SOLO player experience, like it can still be tough but don't make me fight 30-40 enemies at once when I'm buy myself and can't even take cover without getting shot at from all angles and directions.

Just change world level to lower if you cant fight on higher
Master Blaster Apr 2, 2021 @ 10:40pm
Yes...this is how this game works, if your having trouble then turn down the world tier, thats what its for, they are not adjusting the difficulty cause we already have the tools to do that, if you can't deal with anything on World Tier 6 then go to 5 until you get enough skill, be warned though you don't get EXP towards World Tier when your not on the highest you have unlocked, Currently level 17 and playing on World Tier 7, soon to be 8 on solo, you just need to learn how to manage your skills and tactics, its doable.

Lock World Tier around 5 or maybe 6 until you finish the game and get max level then start moding gear and farm high level stuff then start raise world tier around this point it would be much better & fun + efficient

If you keep them on it will frustrate you especially some time you can feel the gap between your level and enemy level and your skill doing 0 dmg if some enemy took you a minute or two to kill you know what i mean

It super easy to raise world tier to 10+ and above later on so don't bother with them for now trust me you feel much better playing campaign with lock world tier

news just in, game with very customizable difficulty settings has difficulties that are very hard to complete.

push yourself to your own skill limit, get the best gear you can. Pusher higher if you can manage or get a party at that point

As said, turn down the world level. I hit the same bump you are at WT6 and I just kicked it down to 4 and tried to get all my gear caught up to my levels before I turned it back up.

U need the right gear, the right skills and the right tactic to fight. Im a techno 20lvl WT9, using sniper CC based build, with blighted rounds i deal sick dmg WANTED mobs die in 4-7 shots. But i also die in no time in close quarters

I am a pyromancer and had this problem myself till i got a purple weapon now i'm gliding through levels and WT i think i'm at 7 WT now with the pyro character level 17 gear level 18 and i am starting to finally feel like a god.

But i had to stay on WT 4 for awhile till i started getting decent drops. I totaslly feel your pain.

Man, that sucks. I guess it makes sense though that you'd have to be on the highest world tier to get EXP for the next world tier. The increased loot drop is so tempting, but no reason to even play on a higher world tier if you're dying super fast and doing low damage to enemies. It just feels to me like the game is easier if you co-op with other players, but not everyone likes to co-op play.

A big part of the challenge is outflanking your opponents. I don't know what class you are playing, but both Tricksters and Devastators have tools for getting out of a flanking spot, while Technomancers have plenty of tools for protecting their flanks.
For devastator you can always use Gravity Leap on the flanking party, for Trickster you have Borrowed time, for Technomancer you can try turrets, tools of destruction, or pain launcher. Pyros have heatwave and eruption.

Have you tried pushing in to the frontline and then giving up space a little at a time to force the flankers in front of you?

Playing WT8 as techno and what i hate the most - is oneshots. You can't freeze this enemy, and he's jumping at you one shot killing you.

I'm level 11, but wearing level 14 gear. If you're level 17 on world tier 7 than it sounds like I'm way too low of a level to be playing on world tier 6. Probably why I'm struggling with it, seems like I need to go up 3-4 more levels before I consider playing on world tier 6, and then maybe by level 20 I can handle world tier 8 or so. Lots of variables though. Class build, weapons, armor, abilities, mods, etc. One dude said he's soloing world tier 10 just fine, so I suppose it's doable if you have the right set up.

Personally I think if you're going full tank than the harder difficulties might be easier. Like if you're playing Devastator and speccing straight into Warden tree than of course you'll be a walking immortal tank since all you're focusing on is straight armor and HP/damage mitigation.

I haven't unlocked Borrowed Time yet, I'm only level 11. You get that technique at level 13, but it does seem like it would help with getting out of a tight spot, or if you're about to die and can teleport back to safety.
