best pump action shotgun standard version you can find. Top skill tree till you get +50mag size, dont take armour piercing nodes. twisted rounds are based on resistance not armour.
mods on armour should be 2 mags for twisted rounds and mod for 30% resistance piercing.
Really thats it.
for survival im using slow trap and borrowed time. i got 2 mods for borrowed time +firepower and + armour and resistance.
my armour from items is 7,8k, borrowed time grants extra 14k.
If that's what you're after then lose the assault rifle. You want high damage per hit, not low damage many bullets.
Yes. It does. Each WT unlocked from WT4 onwards gives you a constant upgrade to the level of gear you can wear above your own.
That's why my level 14 that has unlocked up to WT7 is running around wearing level 18 gear, and not even touched crafting.
SS - Tech
S - Trick
A - Dev
B - Pyro
On Tech and Trick you want to go top tree and get mods which refill your ammo ASAP.
for tech the blight lane gives a group the highest DPS possible with stacking damage buffs and weakness.
the entire mode of this game is efficiency in a group, not "viability." at the extreme end you'd be in a full, coordinated group with 100% synergy.
In random groups you're just... random.
and of course gear matters, there's a difference between having something that spreads effects or gains damage based on what effects are up, and not.
Titanium's needed to get purple and legendary weapons up to speed... but blue ones it's only Iron.
For Technomancer a cheap way to have a super-competitive weapon that'll keep up with you is to get Brain Eater from something (ammo not consumed on crit / headshot), stick it on a blue sniper rifle preferably with +Critical Damage or +Long Range... periodically upgrade it to max level using your massive stacks of Iron.
But similar principle applies for most everything else I'd imagine.
My combo is teleport to the back of where all the enemies are, kite them into a big group and pop my slow bubble, then either spin to win skill or use the first unlocked skill to wipe everything out.
The teleport skil + shotgun also allows me to finish up anything else left
