[FIX] OFFICIAL NEWS RE. STUTTERING ISSUES
This is specifically for anyone still encountering stuttering or stability issues.

We have just pushed a Config update to Steam that will ensure that DX11 now launches as intended (yesterday's launcher was not launching DX11 properly).

DX11 was the version of DirectX that the demo was running with.

You MUST restart Steam to acquire the new config, which will include a minor download.

After you restart, launch Outriders in DX11 mode from within your library (not your downloads).

Please do let us know if this has helped your stuttering or performance issues.

For other successful workarounds, please check our official gather thread

OFF TOPIC REPLIES WILL BE DELETED IN THIS THREAD TO KEEP IT CLEAN.

Awesome, will test now. Will having `-force -dx11` force the game to run in DX11 mode if the shortcut on the desktop is used? Or do we have to launch from the library to use DX11 no matter what?

Try launching from the Library first to ensure its working as intended.

Try this fix for DX12 it helps a lot of people.

Basically exclude the Outriders game folder in Windows Defender.
This fixed the stuttering for me. Runs way smoother now.

Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection. Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings, and then under Exclusions, select Add or remove exclusions. Select Add an exclusion, and then select folders and add the Outriders game folder in steamapps/common.

DX11 may be a better match for you until we've rectified the solution with DX12. Please give it a try.

DX11 is intended to be the workaround for DX12 stutters.

Are you guys seeing the same performance drop (fps) when using DX11 instead of DX12 like we did in the demo (DX12 had much better fps). At work, cant try yet just super curious...tnx!

Yup, stuttering aside - dx12 runs smoother than dx11.

why is dx11 even worse than dx12 but we are being told dx11 can solve stuttering..
instead of reading random reddit posts maybe check 1st before saying this is a workaround. :)

I can confirm on my end that the fix fixed the stuttering for me when I am on DX11 now. But this is mostly my experience, so I am not sure on everyone else. If I use DX12 I do get some stuttering, but mostly during crowded combat. Probably something that should be looked at.

I also use DX12 , i set vsync off capped fps to 120 in game and that got rid of my stuttering. Also i never install gforce experience and also turned off ansel. I dont get screen tearing with these settings.

DX12 runs a way way way better than DX11.
DX11 has low GPU Usage.
The only thing thats better is the HDR.
In DX12 HDR is broken as hell.

Pls fix that HDR Saturation Curve in DX12.
