Eagle Peak's "Bunker Peak" is insanely unballanced
What the hell is with this difficulty spike?!

1st wave charged hard by:

2x Breachers
1x Ironclad
5x Riflemen

They spawn literally ON TOP OF YOU and IMMEDIATELY after you get the Ironclad down to 3/4 health you face a second wave of:

2x Breachers
2x Cremators
1x Captains
5x Riflement

These ALL RUSH AT YOU AT THE SAME TIME!!

And if you rush ahead to try and get somewhere where you're NOT being instantly sat on ALL waves of mobs spawn in at the same time!

Not only do you have to deal with the first two waves but then the third wave spawns in and you have to deal with 5x Cutthroat and a bunch of riflemen and, Cremators spamming you with mortar shots.

This isn't even a boss fight! This isn't even the direct lead up to a boss fight! This is just a standard arena encounter! Why the hell was this designed to be so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ punishing and outrageously difficult compared to the lead up to this point.

The biggest issue, the one that pisses me off, is the fact that not only are you being charged by 3x tanks(Followed by another 3x tanks and a ♥♥♥♥ load of mortars from Cremators every 2 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ seconds) at any given moment but YOU CAN'T BACK UP! If you go back down the hill you reset the engagement!!!!

If you're going to spawn this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on top of a player at least give them room to move! This engagement is so unfair to the player having them constantly be charged at by elites(And Breachers who can three shot you when close enough) and having it rain down mortars it's pure bs.

I had this issue too with WT8.. had to scale down to WT7 to complete this specific part.. it was completelly insane lol


But.. i have to admit i liked the thrilling it was giving... i guess with a party it gets better and more enjoyable..

Yeah, this whole section is total BS. The Cremators in general are bulletsponge BS enemies. I sat there on WT6 and sniper shot one in the head about 25 times before it went down.

The reason is, they dont have ANY other way to make a fight hard. The whole game is just run und gun, there is no thinking, so strategy, no tactics, nothing.

The whole endgame is swarm fights in melee range, even if you are a long range class.

Haha yeah had some issues there too xD on one ocasion I had to retreat outside of the bunker

aaah hahaha its jsut the begenning , there is several places where its a litteral hell hole when you continue from this point,

spoiler: beware the " big gate" fight ( you might consider reduce your world lever at this specific point)

Just wait until you get to "Clear a path to the gate". Probably the hardest fight aside for the last boss, or perhaps just as hard.

I've completed the game and had maybe one or two similar locations that were an issue not because of mobs but because of the arena design. Thankfully in later areas they don't push you back against a wall at the very start of the arena like they do in Bunker Peak.

The biggest issue here was just how unfairly balanced the arena was. There was nowhere to really hide, nowhere to get your bearings and nowhere to run to or even retreat to because five feet back from the only viable cover you could get behind and you were resetting the engagement.

To be fair, I believe when they actually designed those levels they wanted to create a totally different game.

You can actually feel at the start of the game that it was supposed to be a cover themed game, where those areas would have made sense for an intense firefight.

But then something happened... either they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the AI, or ran out of money or ideas.

And the latter half of the game is just very, very bad as the result.

I felt the same way.

While playing through it I remembered an interview stating it wasn't a cover based shooter but up until this point it was definitely a cover based shooter. For this area and the next(Trench Town areas?) it seemed to be a mix between easy cover based combat and then some heavy armoured rush tactics pushing you away from cover. By the Forest area all respects to cover based shooting were pretty much gone.

It's at the point I became incredibly frustrated but then started investing in mods in my equipment, not upgrading equips but picking up upgrades that drop and modding them as I went. After that it became a lot more fun, a lot more action orientated and cover was just there if you needed to hang back for a few seconds or just break line of sight.

Mods really make this game a hell of a lot of fun and change gameplay from cover based to being gung ho.

you're only hope, if you are on a WT you can barely handle, is to be smart and aggressive

defensive play will get you killed

you need to line of sight (not sit in cover) whatever you can and kill off priority low hp targets (snipers etc) first and keep moving

i ended up getting into the little bunker area and around to line of sight stuff and worked my way through it

its a rough one because you cant run them back as you get the exiting combat warning

in other areas you can cat and mouse over 3 maps backwards to handle stuff

1 thing I found out during that fight though was the pyros fire ammo skill melts everything including the tanky dudes. Load up my lmg and go to town and whole map dies

Adapt, review your build and use the scenario, you are not forced to sit in the entrance in a cover, those tank enemies are super slow, look for good spots in flanks, kite them around.

It really isn't about builds it's just about being aggressive as ♥♥♥♥. running around interrupting captains and killing mobs that are close. I died in this area around 6 times because of the vanguard captain and his stupid anomaly shield.

the battle after that is even harder with all the monsters and the big mini boss monster who spams skills at you while dozens of mobs keep spawning
