is this even viable if you're not using a controller?
You are a saint. This fix needs more visibility.
I could tell right off that something was janky with the right stick (which I suspected was the camera stutter issue) because in menus using the right stick would switch it to keyboard input. It appears in the "official" template, the right stick is actually registered as a mouse input.
switching to a generic gamepad template completely fixed it.
Your instructions are about as clear as mud. Explain it for people that don't use trash ass big picture mode. I found some options for controllers, but nothing says "official" or "default", and I certainly don't see any options for specific games.
right click on the game in you library and go to manage > controller (this has improved recently and you don't need to use big picture any more for proper controller setup). Then literally select any profile other than the "official" one.
Perfectly clear. thanks.
go to "browse configs" I forgot to mention that in my last reply.
Literally none of the options you mention exist. I have "default" "use steam input" "disable steam input". All of these are in a drop down menu. Absolutely ZERO "browse configs" option.
I'm not even using a controller, so I'm not even sure this is a viable fix for my issue anyways.
