Bug Report Update Thread
Hi Everyone,

Thank you for all the comments and feedback.

Please note: We are adding multiplayer back, I will follow up with announcements explaining this. Thank you for your patience.

I will open this thread across all of the Commandos community hubs. If you are running into problems with a particular version of Commandos, please post it in its own thread, this will help us coordinate our efforts in searching for solutions.

We are working on resolving as many problems as possible with the recent patches. We have heard you on the previous thread and are working towards solutions.

Many of the comments I have read state that the game simply does not run on a particular Operating System - typically Windows 10 64 bit. However, this hasn't helped us unfortunately as some of our test machines are running Windows 10 64 bit and we are not seeing the same problems. With that said, if you could provide your full system hardware log, we might be able to hunt down hardware incompatibility etc.

To run a DxDiag report follow the steps below:
  • If you are running Windows Vista or higher go to your task bar.
  • Click on, "Start Button".
  • Click on, "Run".
  • In the pop-up window enter DxDiag and hit ok.
  • The DirectX Diagnostic Tool pop-up window should appear.
  • Click on, "Save all information".

From there, you can copy this information to a website like Pastebin[pastebin.com] Please copy and paste the link to your log into a comment here. Please also explain the problem you are experiencing with the game in as much detail as possible. We are doing our absolute best to fix the problems with the games.

Legacy versions:
Commandos Behind Enemy Lines not work (logic seen that before he functioned not under Windows 10 and the problem with Wargame.dir quote before)

Commandos Beyond the Call of Duty (Works perfectly, except for the problem of WAR_MP.DIR quote before)

Commandos 2 Men of Courage (Works or not Windows 7 or Windows 10 still the Stop function)

Commandos 3 Destination Berlin (Works poorly, I flashes on the screen) for version updater no more bugs with the sniper and the loading of the mission ^ - ^

What I propose is why not put just the same files that we had from the beginning to the Legacy Version?
If another proposal, I also buy the game on DotEmu (long ago) I retest and launches all smoothly under Windows 10 (except Commandos Behind Enemy Lines for DirectX5) it would be a good compromise for the Legacy version instead of putting the GOG version, which I see has large bugs.
Hi Kenshiro, I am reading all feedback across all of the games. You don't need to post this on them all. Please can you split the bugs by the relevant game too? This will help us work through the problems faster.
Thanks for your feedback, and please remember your hardware log!

I keep getting a crash, telling me "This is the international version of commandos. Please run the German version on this computer". Also I noticed all the folders and files in the game directory or named italian or spanish like the "DATOS"-folder.

It's because the german version is censored from swastikas etc, they stopped the non censored exe working on german pc's

The best solution is to change the Windows country settings to "Deutsch (Luxemburg)", as demonstrated on the screenshot. These settings are identical to the original "Deutsch (Deutschland)" settings, but the game no longer posts this nasty error message.

And folders have spanish names because the game was developed by a spanish company

Can you post your system hardware log? There's information how to do this in the initial post. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi James,
Legacy version features a problem with the WARGAME.DIR
must put one of the old version because that's the concern
for the screen resolution has had 4 choices like the normal version except that the problem is becoming
640x480=640x480
800x600=640x480
800x600=1024x768
1280x720=1024x768
the problem is that even if I put my old version of WARGAME.DIR in the Legacy folder (I still have my old game files before update), it will not work because it WARGAME.DIR read the file directly in the source folder the game and not in the Legacy folder as should be.
