Once uppon a time, I had the game in french (it was during last century...).
Is there a way to get also other langages support? (in my case, french)

When the Steam version of a game misses features that other releases of the game had, just check the guide section, there are usually guides with patches and/or explaining how to restore that content.

It's a bit sad that the existing languages are not directly handled by the steam version of the game and that players have to search for some files over the network (for which distribution may be sometimes not legal).

I see a lot of old games which have the translations missing. I don't understand: game editors/studios should still own the files, no?

I once read someone saying that before the translations weren't done by the developers, but by the publisher of each country: the developer made the game, gave it to the publisher and the publisher itself translated the game to the language of that country and released it.

That would explain why games like Commandos don't include all the languages: because the developer doesn't have them and/or they aren't their property. The bulls*** comes when Commandos, a spanish game, doesn't come in spanish ¬¬

SillyWalk, true. Anyway I was searching in my old cd biography, and i was found all original cd of comandos in spanish language! :D .(I dont try if i can choose more language with CD)

Its true than other countries make games for the editor in the language that he wants. But its true that the people that live in the making game's country, cant enjoy it in his language :(.

I think, the principal games that sells in europe must be the following language: Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Russian. And more optional language like a Czech, Polland, etc...(All principal countries and languages of EU).

If do that, i think can be make a lot of jobs for translaters, designers, etc.....But its true that the small companies dont have to much money :D. But is good that the companies in EU talk about that.... I hate play in english language(But its good to learnt it), lost the essency of game in your language(But its true that too the deppend of game making country).

I know im playing Kerbal Space Program(mexican colaborations), and is difficult to know the tecnical words of the game... but its true that have a lot of mod's, and translate in all language is sooooo difficult.(Kerbal in spanish!!!)
