Ki blast in combo

I haven't played this game much and am not good with fighting games but i do have the bnb combo down for goku ssj except I can't seem to perform more hits after i fire a ki blast when i have the opponent in the air. I can't hit them with a ki either because they flip and seems they have i-frames when they flip in mid air or my character falls to the ground and the combo ends.

How do I fix this? I know I'm doing something wrong any thoughts?

Generally what will help is to use aerial auto combos. I had an issue for a while where during my midair combos I would always press light and then medium respectively, while doing the first 2 hits of auto combos actually does the same attacks but with the added property of giving you height.

So your combo after your super dash should be light light jump light light ki blast special move
