Free DLC?

I came back to the game after the latest patch and I got some free DLC characters? For reference I got the base version of the game, so no DLC, yet I now have Z Broly, Bardock, Base Goku, Fused Zamasu and Vegito (I first I thought that I was given fighter pass 1, but upon closer inspection some of the roster is missing, so I was specifically given these 5 chracters!) . I checked to see if someone gifted me the DLC but no such notification appeared. So either ArcSys is handing out free DLC or the update messed something up and unlocked some characters for free. Has this happenned to anyone else?
