It's not just hate and negativity for the sake of it, it's mass community disappointment in what the game has become. Even excluding the rollback patch, every update following the release of SSJ4 Gogeta has obliterated almost every underlying rule of the game. I can't describe it in any other way than "weird and stupid", very much just feels like throwing balance ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks. It isn't the game that people fell in love with or that ArcSys put so much soul into.
It couldn't even make EVO because nobody cares, the releases of Tekken 8 and SF6 were the final nails in the coffin because why would we bother coming back when other avenues are so much more promising? Not to mention the rollback update broke the Spectator Mode. In a game infamous for having the highest viewership numbers at majors. Nobody inside wants to play it, and anybody interested on the outside can't even watch it for the visual spectacle this game is famous for.
TLDR; Bandai neglected the game the second it stopped being a cash cow and ArcSys have been earnestly trying, but failing, to keep a sinking ship afloat. DBFZ is a husk of its former self and people have given up.
Well, thanks again, hope it either gets fixed or something happens.
The problem, and the lack of polish boils down to some cosmetic bugs. It's particularly bad in spectator mode when watching live games in ring matches (not replays), but extremely minor in actual game and don't affect gameplay at all.
So apart from cosmetic bugs that got better in some places but somehow got worse in others, connection wise rollback has been great. It's not magic so it's not gunna save you from wifi warriors but still.
