With blazblue cross tag it all comes down to the price, if 40 characters via all in one char pack + game = 60 dollars then it's not a bad deal at all and base game would be considered an "lite" game.
even then it's dumb of them to open themselves up to such easy even if misinformed criticism and i expected better of them.
i cant get people to udnerstand this... you end up getting more content with BBCTAG than DBFZ but people have such a blind love for dbz that this release could almost do no wrong.
i have local friends who have been talking about this game like they have played it (before the beta) and others who go on and on about how good it is, people in countless forums before the beta happened even admitting that it doesnt matter if the game is bad they will still play the hell out of it because it is dbz...
from what i played it seems pretty good. nothing crazier than any other fighter out there tho.does it get a pass for doing the same thing as BBCTAG? hell no... both have bs practices but the second one honestly has a better value...
this explains why almost all their games feel unfinished, are bareboned and recycled and full of dlc's... just look at what happend with SFV.....or tekken 7 how bareboned it is compared with previous games, or how recycled the naruto ninja storm series is
dragon ball super is another example... if you look pass the flashy graphics what do you have? a 3v3 only fighting game with 2D mugen gameplay and a couple of characters ....basically a 30$ game sold for 60$-100$
"These days Japan has poor resources to make video games and can't compete with other countries because Japan is a small freaking island"
Generally speaking, there's three regions in the world who make most of the video games: North America, Western Europe, and Japan. It's also not like they're folding game discs a thousand times to save money, the nation has quite a few people working on assets and code. If anything, Japan has a bigger indie scene and more homogenously spread out scene for not only video games, but comics and animation as well, as opposed to North America, which has its creators generally living only near highrises on the urban coasts. Japan's not small, it's compressed.
Furthermore, there have been quite a few Japanese games out there lately that don't recycle or reuse assets. SFV is barebones not because the circumstances of Japan's territorial depth or economy, but because Capcom for a long time has been getting worse and worse with game development and marketing overall. SFV is barebones because Capcom wanted to release the game earlier for the purpose of making bank from tournaments(Heck, Capcom even had ESPN and Disney XD show SFV at EVO last year), and ironically it's not even going to make an appearance at EVO 2018 due to how bad it is, and the only thing you can blame SFV's faults on is Capcom itself. As for Tekken I can't exactly say.
Overall though your argument's rather baseless and filled with excuses that simply do not add up.
SFV is certainly going to be at EVO lol, did I miss something and did you mean MVCI?
Makes complete sense because you know, Shadow of Mordor and Assasin's Creed are dead aren't they? Ohhhh what's that? They sold millions of copies even though they contained loot boxes in a single player game. Stop talking ♥♥♥♥.
Howerer, did Shadow of War sell better than Shadow of Mordor?(Can't speak to AC since I never really bothered after AC2 except for black flag because of the whole being a pirate thing, so I haven't been keeping up)

Even though they came out 3 years apart they have pretty much the same player base right now. You should also take into account the fact that a game selling well doesn't mean neither it sold as well as the company wanted it too nor that it sold as well as it's predecesor.
Xenoverse 1 and 2 both sold millions, however, Xenoverse 2 sold about 4 million less copies. You may not notice but companies definitely do.
Costumer attrition, be it because of crappy business practices or crappy products, doesn't happen over night. It happens slowly, over the years, eroding costumer good will untill they end up saying "enough is enough" and stop buying.
It's precisely the reason for the whole controversy with battlefront and destiny. It's nothing new, but not as many people are willing to give them a pass anymore, and their sales suffered for it.
