DRM doesn't work, and there isn't proof that it prevents anyone from pirating the game. DRM only hurts the legit customers that are paying for the game when they create ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ systems we have to jump through. Every AAA game out there with DRM has been pirated at some point.

I don’t consider Steam DRM itself beyond installation because you can play all the games offline without steam after they’re downloaded. Steam does offer DRM options for developers, but doesn’t lock you in like other platforms that need internet connections to verify purchases before single player game start.
The bottom line, DRM doesn’t work, and never did.
DRM does work. However, is it becoming less effective? Yes. Try not to forget that there are still a handful of protected games out there that have yet to be cracked, some of which are 4 years old +.
Sometimes, for a publisher, the goal is to protect the game for a few months or even just during launch week. If publisher-dev collabs did not seek out protection because they wanted to keep their game protected for a few months, a week or even just a few days, they would not be investing in protection.
We are all aware that most games are getting cracked within 24hrs - a couple months – this includes publisher-dev collabs. If these groups personally believe it is worth it to protect their game for a short time, they will continue to invest in protection.
cool.
ignore all posts from this troll.
NOSCOPENOPROBLEM is correct, if a game hasn't been cracked it's simply because there isn't a demand for it.
DRM is like gun control, those that want the guns will find a way, but the control only effects those that follow it.
Company treats all the customers as a potentianly taffers, proceed to fu ck everything up with a draconian DRM,jack the prices up with half game's content locked behind a paywall, tune the game down for mongoloids (otherwise it won't sell well) and whatever
But hey we are poors!
LOL
Reason people want it removed is cos it hampers performance often, while those that pirate it crack it anyway getting everything on a silver plate while those that spend money on it loyaly get treated like scum, i think protecting game from piracy is fine though but there only as much you can do, once its cracked you may as well drop it which is reasonable thing that some devs do.
Looks like it's time to check that not-interested box.
