They do very less damage
hits after a vanish do very little damage
While supers do the minimum damage
what's probably ruining 1v1 for you is Damage boost Limit Break.
Limit Break has made some characters unbalanced but in a 3v3 it's not a big deal.

Sparking Blast used to be a comeback mechanic now because of limit burst it's more of a defensive tool then a comeback tool , it still can be used as comeback but it's better used as defensive tool to save your mid or point character(preferably mid) or offensive tool if you like TOD's.
you can use assist defensively during staggers or bait them out in nuetral

when your down to your last character just don't commit
don't use unsafe moves with long recovery just stay calm. it's hard staying calm yeah i mean i don't le but that's part of the fun in the challenge.
Vanish Really isn't that hard to deal with unless we're talking about delay higher than 6fr.
I really hate dealing with 17 a assist cause it negates alot of safe options
so if i see 17 a assist i'm dealing with him first
but i'm not gonna hate on his assist
He's got stubby normals which is why he'snot played much lel so it's ok.
If your feeling there isn't enough defensive options it's cause your jumping too much all of them are available on ground that's why.
you could argue that my opponent is jumping too much and say why does he have any problem well maybe that's cause there super jumping and using super jump float to control there movement you can float or fall faster when super jumping it's upto you if you can super jump.
well if your opponent is just jumping you can abuse them bring them down with assist and clip there legs or bring them down projectile like ssj goku 2s or ui goku 2s or bluegeta 2s or android 21 236M or S-Broly 236S and pressure with assist and get in.
you don't have alot of control in the air when you jump back, superjump back yeah you get some control but if you block something in air your coming down fast regardless of weather you want to or not even if it's a superjump.
BTW i can't superjump either so i rely on upward projectile+ assist to bring them down.
i know the input but i can't do it on analog stick lol (press down before you jump up) and i prefer playing on analog stick.
also theres alot of offensive options that can defeat those defensive options. reflect? just have a strong 2m, blocking? dragon rush, command grabs, superdash. raw tag? easy 2h. reflect into raw tag? easy 2h. guard cancel? block into a full combo. sparking blast? just back up and go back to offensive.
beating dragonrush? mash
opponent jumping over me? mash sideswitch
superdash? homing missle and time correctly an assist can make it safe
