Altering Game mechanics is not a possible way to cheat in Fighting Games. If you hack anything that's about the gameplay, health, meter, move- or framedata then it will simply desync online and cause a disconnect since everything you receive from your opponent is nothing else then a second player input on your own game and because your gamedata isn't altered then the moves can't behave different.
The only "hacks" that would work in any online fighter are bots, macros and tool assisted scripts.
It's 2018 and people still don't know how P2P netcodes in Fighting Games work. sheesh

So it was just extreme lag then? Because I'm not the one to call cheats usually but this guy was 100% being hit and not taking damage

Sadly Lagswitching is still an issue, good thing it's not common though at least.

A lag switch is a piece of equipment installed on a home network that temporarily delays the flow of traffic to the internet. In an online gaming context, the physical toggle can be switched on to delay gameplay to give the lag switcher the upper hand.

Since lagging tends to favor the person with the connection they just pop their lag switch and boom, instant uperhand that they can monopolize on.

I got two people alone using lag switches I'm sure. Their lag was way too convenient and once I was thrown off it never reared again.

Neither, check the patch logs, they added QQ Bangs Lvl 6 into the game,
added easier QQ Bang Mixer for people who could play and grind the required items online.

And they also added new powerful souls, which buffs characters even further beyond.
Bandai is just saying good bye to the game, so probably nothing else new is coming other than ♥♥♥♥♥♥ DLC Characters.
