if you have friends or brothers to play, you will have lot of fun. because graphic style is really impressive.
-------
You can also find some like minded players on the forum / discords and arrange for fun fights and not lab rat races. Gotta find those people that like to have everyone stop and just charge up for the luls!
And... AND... costumes n merch for the lobbies.
If you want fighter with good singleplayer than keep in mind that this genre is not the best in single player modes but...
-Injustice 2 is quite good for single player. 4/5 Hours of very good story mode and multiverse.
-Blazblue series has longest story modes that are very immersive and while from time to time you feel like its a bit too much talking it is good investment also BB has decent arcade modes. CF has probably longest story mode but unfortunately its only undubbet part so prepare for alot of reading. Remaining parts have shorter story modes are pretty dead online but cost a little especially during promo.
-Injustice 1/MK10 for decent story mode.
-MvCI for 2,5 H story mode (which doesnt tortures with grind like DBFZ and is more entertaining) and Arcade (minimalitstic unfortunately).
Overally If you are interested purely in singleplayer I recommand you these over DBFZ.
Because recently only Vanilla SF5 were worse for single player.
I'm quite surprised because singleplayer in BlazBlue and Guilty Gear was good. Even in recent Under Night in-Birth: Late[st] is better. Under Night in-Birth series is not developed by ArcSys, but by French-Bread, but in Late[st] feels ArcSys hand as publisher.
As for Arcade, the experience is a lot better for the challenge, especially since it ramps up the difficulty depending on the grade you get. I'm not a fan of them just buffing the AI's damage thou, since at higher difficultys and ladders in Arcade you will see AI that does about 80% health with a super or combo.
If you are OK with that I'd say the single player experience is worth it.
Story mode is like 10 times longer than it's got the contents for.
Arcade mode feels quite uninspired, AI difficulty = more damage and other buffs
That only leaves Practice mode, where the tutorial doesn't explain half the mechanics and the combo challenges get tedious quickly.
It's a fun game thanks to the online, but you run out of things to do by yourself quickly. For SP, I'd suggest MK (9) or MK X, you've always got stuff to do on your own there.
