Trying to use the comparison between standard and ultimate marvel versions of characters is completely irrelevant in trying to compare a movie side story character with a re-envisioning of that character into the actual source material by its original author...
Fact is if the new Broly we get is the "Broly we know" then its gonna be more hot steaming garbage just like the original and a waste of an opportunity to do a quality concept justice.
Maybe he finally decided to show his true power.
Stay mad.
Broly is so strong and good he made himself canon

Aww look at you thinking I am mad because I stated a fact. its adorable.
again, this new Broly is NOT the old one and aside from the name and concept is in no way related. so as stated before the original Broly is still hot steaming side story garbage. Full stop.
What's adorable is how much you need to try argue with the guy.
New movie woo!
lol
kay
Well, yeah. It's a new take on the character. They'll have probably scrapped the whole "Goku was crying" thing. Movie 8 and 10 aren't canon but these new movies (BoG, RF) are. Mind you we haven't even seen the movie yet, so we'll see.
Battle of Gods, Res F and this new Broly movie are written by Toriyama and acknowledged by him the series creator as part of the series continuity, this is what makes something "canon" if you consider the meaning of the term. The DBZ movies are side stories that exist within their own isolated continuity bubbles that have no meaning in regards to the series continuity.
