Goku Black is THAT good?

What exactly makes him strong? i'm thinking to drop him for someone else in the anchor spot because i do play him, but can't figure out why people hate to play against him so much, thanks.

This forum likes to exaggerate a lot, so take everything with a grain of salt. He isn't that amazing. He's a solid character for sure, but so is most of the cast.

He's not broken or anything like that, just pretty good. His smash attacks have pretty good range, he can meter burn his teleport for a overhead crossup, and his assist attack is pretty good.

I wouldn't say he is to good but almost every team I play against have him in one of their slots. At this point I'm just tired of seeing him lol.

In most online matches every team has at least Black, Vegata, Cell, and 16. Yeah, there are only 24 characters and its a 3v3 game but still the lack of diversity in team composition is quite sad to see. People in the FGC (yes even the Pro players) tend to over exaggerate how good or bad a character is so they only tend to stick with the characters they think are the best.

ya u can catch lot of ppl off guard with kameha zamatsu assist & he isnt that hard to use he isnt my main but he is last on my team as last resort

No, he is not OP, 90% of people take him because they love his color hair, and nobody take Krilin because he is bald. Obvious.

I use him but only beacuse I like the character, if the DLC contains Bardock or Broly(I hope for Bardock!) then he gona be replaced.

He's very good and can fit into any team as any position it makes sense why he's common plus hes edgy af

Because he's very standard. He's not particularly great at everything but his entire kit is very forgiving plus he goes well in any slot you place him.

He's also the only character in the game that has a bit of everything, 2 free gapclosers + 1 with a mix up so he only needs 1 meter to break your guard.
He also has an unblockable free ki spam so there's that.

Black isn't OP, he just punishes defensive players a lot because if you let him, every turn is Black's turn.
He has some anti rushing tools too so you can't free kill him like Android 21.

He's easy to learn, not so easy to play against because he rushes very well. Not many people know you can cast his holy light grenade twice in a row and the second will land if they recover too early. You can do some cheesy 2 meters kill against people that just spam recover.

And Nosawa is great as him too, he has a top-tier voice OS.

He's not overly exceptional at anything, but he also has little to no major weak areas. Above average assist, good zoning, decent pressure, decent combo damage, great mid-air options, fantastic down+heavy, etc. He fits anywhere and everywhere.

He is fairly easy to play, and has everything that the game offers, except for a solo combo-able overhead that very few have. He is darn good at them also. Assists, combo potential, damage, free teleport, unblockable with Zamasu assist, specials/supers that can be done in the air, and on the ground...the list goes on.

Everyone and their mom play as him due to his versatility, and his ability to play in any slot on the team. While it is annoying that there is Goku Black pretty much in every team you face, people hate to go against him because most spam his special/super moves ad nauseum. (Punishment of a God....taste my blade!)
