Xbox one controller sucks for fighters!
Any one else using a xbone controller and find that the angles of the controller suck. Its designed to have you hands focused on the trigers and the damn buttons on this thing are so close that miss-presses happen all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time.

I'm using xbox 360 controller.
Don't know about that but the sticks are quite ♥♥♥♥. Going left, right, left, right and my char suddenly jumps. I DID NOT PRESS UP FFS!!
Also many of the combos seem impossible when using stick.
Teen Gohan combo where you press down, heavy attack and then fling the stick forward and press RB (motionless kamehame) i tried to do that maybe 100 times with stick and never succeeded. Tried it once with the D-pad and got it on my first try.
Dashing using stick is much much harder than with d-pad.
But then again the special moves and mid air stick flings are easier with stick than d-pad.
I'm not about to invest 100-200 euros for a good joystick just so i can play this game.
So i'm stuck with my xbox 360 controller.
Sometime i might even use my WASD to do some moves... ridiculous.

I'm using an Xbone Elite controller and it works perfectly for me with no accidental button presses. Nothing objectively wrong with it, it's just a matter of personal preference and hand shape/size.

I have the opposite problem lol, xbox one has the buttons to separated, the controller that a lot of people has designated as one of the ebst controllers out there(switch pro controller) is really good and that's one of the reasons is easier to use 'cause everything is closer.

I do have an issue with xone controller but is 'cause I'm a big guy with big hands and the xone controller is big and the joysticks are a bit longer so it's more difficult for me to do transitions in combos like 2 5 2 5 9

I have a Qanba Drone, and I find my XBox One Afterglow controller to be much easier and more accurate. Just my preference though.

A lot of top level Killer Instinct players actually use the Xbox One controller.

I am personally using an Xbox 360 controller for FighterZ and find it generally fine for the game. I think this game sorta works better on a controller than an arcade stick, personally.

I used 360 controller for SSF4AE. It were ok but DS3 is so much better and DS4 is even better than DS3. Of course its matter of personal preferences.

It's because the genius idea of puting the d-pad lower than the buttons. A PS4 controller has a more symetrical layout between dpad and buttons. Not to mention the Trigger buttons, they're made for racing games.

Get one of those PS controllers.

Well to be exact, Im playing with a pdp xbone controller and have fount that the x,y,a,b buttons are much closer together in conparison to my after glow xbox 360 controller that it replaced. I might have to get another xbox 360 controller because I have a lot of mis presses of buttons on thios thing. I have no problem using the thumb sticks and play with them instead of the d pad.

I found the D-pad register in this game to be a complete mess. In order to execute a down-right\left move, i need to SUPER precisely slide my finger over the D-pad so that the game recognizes the input as "down-downright-right" intstead of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ "down-right". Keyboard controls are just sooo much better for guaranteed input.

I use a ps4 controller and this is some of the most easy inputs ive had to do in a fighting game. Its all hadoken motions.

Wait, you spent that much money on a non-functional controller?

yea the dpad is bad for fighting games. best pad for fighting games are the hori commander 4 or the ps4 controller
JayTac Feb 9, 2018 @ 5:55pm
No. I prefer the xbox one controller, the ps4 is too small and uncomfortable.

Depending on the size your hands, you can run into various issues. Find a game controller that feels comfortable for your needs.

PS4 controller
Steam controller
Xbox 360 controllers
Xbox One controller
Nintendo Switch pro Controller
Any other game controller
Fight stick

Find joy.
