TL;DR: If you want a straightforward high tier character, get Bardock. If you want something more gimmicky and challenging, go for Broly.

Broly is not weak. I don't know how you play Broly but, I'm fine using him around demon/ssj3 rank.
All the characters are viable. I switch around characters all the time. Stop spreading garbage like that which only makes people want to use the same characters all the time because of the false illusion that 'anything else that isn't meta is weak'

In my point of view, Bardock is great and much more easy to pick up, has some universal combos that do decent damage.
Broly isn’t bad either, though like Nappa and Buu, doesn’t control like the rest of the cast, but with push-ups, sit-ups and a lot of juice, the damage can get pretty insane.
That is one DLC i do want to see if it can happen Chi Chi Tournament of Power cause she too was a fighter back in her youth.
