Jump Canceling
How do you jump cancel?

Still working away from Autocombos with some success hitting my opponent with some L and M attacks before launching in the air.

I'm able to extend the duration of my air combos, but it feels random, sometimes I nail it sometimes I don't. I need to do it more reliably.

Is what I'm describing jump canceling? What is it exactly and how to do it correctly?

Thanks!

Down M

Hop Forward
Light

Double jump/cancel
Light
Medium
Heavy

Go into training mode with Goku or Vegeta, they're pretty easy to do the combo with. Not an ideal combo by any means, but good enough for learning to jump cancel.

Once you get that down you can start using the heavy launcher at the end, instead, and chasing up into another set of light, medium, and then either heavy, special, or super, depending on the character.

When you launch the boi in the air, you charge into him, do a L twice (or L and M) and then move the direction as if you're jumping forward in the air (or 9 if you know the numeric fighting annotation) and then do L (or L then M) twice again. You have to get a feel for it. Its basically using the double jump to cancel into two more hits.

Yes, it’s exactly what it says, cancelling the recovery of your attack with a jump.
