Cannot start the game (crash on splash screen)

Hi,

I Cannot play the game. It just displays a splash screen with a green loading bar and characters in the background, and then it closes and nothing happens.

I already tried:
- Disabling the anti-virus
- Deleting the temporary DBFighter directory in AppData
- Launching the executable from the command line to see if there's an error message (there are none)
- Launching in admin mode
- Updating my GPU drivers

Any idea?

Also played around with the redistribuables. It seems like I had issues with Visual C++ versions: the 2017 version was already installed on the PC so the install of the 2015 one failed silently (which is weird in itself).

But in the end, manually uninstalling all the C++ redists and then manually installing the one that comes with the game does not fix the issue.

"Thanks but the game still doesn't start." implies that I tried your suggestions. Sorry if I was unclear, english is not my native language.

The specs: Windows 7 64bits, Quadro M3000M, i5-6300 2.3 Ghz, 16 Gb RAM.
According to the game requirements, this should be enough.

Your antivirus or anti-malware software likely blocked the game's launcher. Go into your antivirus software, whitelist the game, delete the game's launcher if your antivirus software hasn't already deleted or quarantined it already, then verify the integrity of the game cache files on Steam. That might help.

Mine is worst! When the green bar fills up I get blue screen and my PC restarts. Win 7 64 i5 2500k 16gb and a 750ti

I had the same problem. It's some kind of controller compatibility issue for me. When my Dualshock 4 isn't connected it starts fine, but as soon as I plug it in the game crashes. I got it work the other day by connecting the controller then starting it through big picture mode I think. Idk the solution to this problem yet. If you have controllers try unplugging.

Have you tried running it in compatibility mode? Also, try verify the game via Steam Properties.

It works for me on another computer in the same location, so at least we know that it's not a network configuration issue.

Tried verifying the game integrity a few times but it does not solve the issue either.
