What do the squares next to Fighter Names mean?
I've seen people say they indicate rank, others have said they indicate ragequitters. Has anyone looked into this in-depth?

Once you've played 10 matches you'll be placed in a color rank that indicates your skill. To rank up you need to win 10 matches from someone with the same color as you but losing 10 means you will be deranked to a color lower (so if you win 5 times in a row and you lose once, you're back to '4 wins' and you need to win 6 times to rank up).

The order is: Dark Blue, Light Blue, Dark Green, Green, Yellow, Orange, Pink. Pink being the highest and Dark Blue being the lowest.

You cannot rank up or be deranked if you win/lose against someone with another color than your rank, so there's no need to worry if you keep losing to that pink square.

Rage quitting changes the color of your name not the square. As far as the square is concerned I have no clue. I've seen people with all kinds of different BP and various colors

I Alt-tab out constantly and haven't had my name change color.

Players that leave matches frequently get a purple colored name.
The colored squares seem to indicate win rate not anything to do with actual BP.
Very high win rate players have a pink colored square

It just means rank, the you start out at white and get placed in your color bracket when you play enough matches. The ranks go from dark blue>light blue>dark green>light green>yellow>red>pink. The color ranking system is in every Arcsys game.

From what I hear, it's called threat level. It doesn't matter if you play ranked matches or just any casual/arena/ring match.

I've only played one ranked match, in which I won 2/3 fights. I've also played 20 casual matches, in which I've only lost about 2 or 3 fights. I've also played a bunch of ring matches with friends, in which I won the majority.

That put my square as yellow. My other friend, who has only played ring matches with me, has a light green threat level.

If I had to guess, the strongest factor would be win ratio, not necessarily games played or BP.

^This. Though there aren't any blue ranks, it starts with just white and progressively advances to a reddish-magenta at top tier.

Thanks for all the replies, peeps.
I have seen blue squares, though. They definitely exist.
