Local Multiplayer how to get 2 controllers working?

I have a PS4 controller and an xbox 360 controller, when both are plugged in they are both selected as controller 1 when I go into local multiplayer. Does anyone know a workaround to get this to work?

Its abit odd, but connect a 3rd controller
If the 3rd controller keeps controlling, disconnect it, and disconnect the 1st controller, and reconnect it again (2nd one is always plugged in)
It should work now

You can't use an Xbox and PS4 Controller on PC. It Picks up the xbox control mapping when you go to customize buttons. Keep one Xbox controlelr plugged in, go to customize button mapping. On the right hand side of the screen it'll say "Press start with controller". Plug second controller in, have them hit start. Back out and go to local play, should be able to pick each side now.

(From my thread when i had this issue last night) We couldnt get a PS4 and Xbox controller to work together. But two xbox worked fine after the above trick.

I was able to get both of them working, its abit tricky, but after doing the steps, it works like a charm

Had a similar issue on a windows 7 PC where a xbox 360 pad and ps4 were both being seen as player one. The fix for me was to go to Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings > then check the box to enable the xbox and ps4 controllers.
