Excuse me, how do I access LOCAL coop?

I've invated two friends who don't play fighting games over to play this game with them. Fighting against them will obviously not be fun for any of us since it will be such an uneven fight. Luckily, I heard that there is a an ONLINE mode in which each of 3 players control 1 character on their team. I ASSUME that since there is an ONLINE mode like that there is a LOCAL mode like that. I mean, there has to be, right? Why would there only be an ONLINE mode like that?

Yeah there is local co op, its on the NE side of the lobby. Its called 'local match'. you can also teleport to it with the teleport menu.

Though the story mode doesn't have co op.

If you make a ring match there's a party mode where every player plays 1 fighter.
Just press RT to open the ring match menu in a lobby

Local Match seems to only have 1v1. No co op whatsoever. Making a ring match allows me to put only one character on the team and forces me to wait for online players to join in.
Again, where is LOCAL co-op?

I too was looking forward to this mode for couch co-op, so far I'm not seeing any way to have online play with more than one player on the same pc. There's not even a local party mode. Here's hoping they do something about that.

Someone suggested using those controller to keyboard mapping programs to make several controllers mapped to the same keys on the keyboard. That way, you can have 2 or 3 people control the P1 or P2 side.
