Failed to initialize network.
This is the error message I receive when I try to enter a name right when the game first boots up. I have no idea if it's a networking issue on their side or mine, or if this is just some generic error message. All I want to do is get in the game and play story mode. I've tried about 6 times now, but I still get the same message.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? If you've gotten past this message, what did you do to fix it?

Had same issue on PS4 both during beta and this morning I unplugged my internet and it let me start in offline mode hopefully you can do the same on pc in some way.

UPDATE:

I suspect it was rejecting me because I didn't have a unique username. After I entered in gibberish for my online name, it finally let me through. This error is generic and does not really tell you there's a network issue.

I get this message right when I start the game, and it only allows me into the offline lobby from there. Where is the menu to enter a name?

Yeh I got this problem as well. I can't seem to connect to whatever I'm suppose to connect to to even view lobbies it only gives me the option of connecting to the offline lobby. OH also you can't go back to the main menu and exit the game, it has you in an infinite loop of trying to initialize the network. so you ether close it manually or go into the lobby and then return to the menu, and then exit the game. Real awesome.

"I had this issue since launch day but i finally fixed it this may only be applicable to windows 10 but if you go to windows settings then go to the network and internet section theres an option at the bottom of that page to "Network Reset" it basically sets all network settings to default after rebooting regardless after doing that I could finally connect to the game! Hope this helps some one else."

"So I finally fixed the problem. DBFZ's anti-cheat program has a confliction with bfllr.dll. It's a file associate with Qualcomm Atheros Killer Network Manager. After uninstalling that program, the game finally booted up with online functionality. Here's more info on the .dll file
https://www.file.net/process/bfllr.dll.html"
