Local multiplayer team of 3 vs Online group of 3?

"Party Mode" is listed online but i cannot find a clear answer anywhere regarding the restrictions of couch coop. Does ANYONE know details?

The general manner in which the devs arent giving details about the mode leads me to believe that each player has to be online in a separte instance, not 3 local players competing as a team online with 3 other players. This would really be great because fighting games are usually enjoyable but severely limit their value from lackluster/repetitive modes.

Yeah i would! Me and 2 friends getting high dont have to watch entire matches and trade off--everyone can participate. Even better, tag combos would require coordination and could create ranked team competition. Also, how can you say it wouldnt work because its too fast? It WILL be in the game as a 3 vs 3 ONLINE where each controls ONE character, and that is the recipe for it being ineffective due to 6 different ISP speeds/ping. It would be much easier to tell your friend sitting next to you "about to tag you in"

I really hope it allows 3 players locally to fight against 3 other local players online, but it certainly sounds more closer to 6 different online players teaming up, which would make for a chaotic game, but terribly disorganized.

it will be online 3v3, 6 player i dont know if you can choose your teamate but it will be a gamemode (they talked about it in an interview

Now after the game is released, can anyone confir if its possible to do "3 players on one PC vs 3 players online"? How about "2 players on one PC controlling all 3 characters vs 3 players online"?
