That is not relevent. It has nothing to do with droping combos. You drop combos because you have to input very fast and your coordination slips or because your timing gets off.
Here he talks about of jumping instead of going forward. Nothing complicated. That doesn't happen because of a slight misdirection. You have to be seriously off for that.
But I could also just use arrow keys on a keyboard. It is not an inferior control option. The only reason I stopped using it is because it doesn't transfer to PS4.
The thing is, apparently, you never used a proper fightstick and make comparisons which is not really honest.
I started playing SF 4 on my keyboard ( a good one without ghosting), daily for something like 2 weeks. Won matches online . It works alright, but it can be hell with some character types.
Bought the Mad Catz TE after that and after a little bit of getting used to...well now playing a fighter on a keyboard would feel like diping my hands in a clogged toilet.
These games including DBFZ was designed around controllers which is important to note. These are NOT arcade cabinet games these are profit making home console games. Therefore it MUST be designed around controllers since controllers are mainstream.
It's essentially just like using a hit box. I'm not saying people should play keyboard over other peripherals, but if someone wanted to then there's no reason not to because they are very optimal for how the inputs in these games work.
It's certainly not as intuitive as using a controller or even an arcade stick, but they can definitely be viable.
He literally said he prefers playing this on an arcade stick, lol.
And it's still personal preference.
im no the greatest but mind you a guy won a fighting tornoment with a PS1 Controller so anything is possible
Pads are sub-optimal IMO because using the analog stick is greatly inaccurate and I have yet to find one with d-pad that does not makes my fingers hurt quickly. I also find D-pads to be quite slow in use.
Keyboard is pretty much a Hitbox controler (which is very popular in tournaments settings) with more buttons, so anyone saying it's bad just doesn't know what they are talking about.
So yeah for me it's either an arcade stick or keyboard.
